Is there any way to stretch /elongate a cashmere sweater? Could the tailor do anything to stretch/widen it? I read a thread about someone accidentally making their cashmere sweater longer. submitted by /u/Minimum-Science-9265 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Something Funky in the Air?

My daughter got a smoking deal on a Mini Cooper. Trouble was that it smelled SO STRONGLY of cigarettes and no air freshener or deodorizing spray helped. The leather seats were saturated with the odor. I had the idea to set our ozone generator on the floorboard and let it run about an hour at a time, and it worked its miracle. I just closed a door as much as possible to create a seal over the cord. I had bought this thing several years ago to use after cooking odors, and since then it gets whipped out before packing our Airstream, when hunters stay in our cabin, or if the house just doesn't sm ..read more

Where to hide the extra keys in an apartment complex?

I have been using the door matt and plant pot for sometime but after some recent events, I do not trust the spot. As all the friends live a bit far I cannot give them my keys. Any suggestions are appreciated. My door locks automatically after I close it from outside without any keys, so I am always a bit afriad about being locked out and not carrying the keys. I have storage space in the basement but that also requires a key to open the door. submitted by /u/snail_that_ran_away [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

It doesn’t matter the brand I’ve tried, universal experience so far. submitted by /u/GiganticSkylight [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How many times does everyone do laundry in a week? I have a toddler and it feels like I'm drowning with clothes.. Laundry seems to never end! I have a load in my dryer right now, and another load in the basket to be folded.. And I look at our hamper and it is overflowing already. submitted by /u/ArielUnderTheSea_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How to talk to an IRS agent (real person) on the phone

If you've had to call the IRS to talk to someone about a late return or anything else, you know what a headache it is to talk to a real person. This worked for me: The IRS telephone number is 1-800-829-1040. The first question the automated system will ask you is to choose your language. Once you’ve set your language, do NOT choose Option 1 (regarding refund info). Choose option 2 for “Personal Income Tax” instead! Next, press 1 for “form, tax history, or payment”. Next, press 3 “for all other questions.” Next, press 2 “for all other questions.” When the system asks you to enter your SSN or ..read more

I've been on this journey of embracing my quirks, and let me tell you, it's been liberating! I used to stress so much about fitting in, but now? Nah, not my thing anymore. Whether it's my funky hobbies, my eclectic fashion choices, or my slightly offbeat sense of humor, I've realized that all these things make me uniquely me. And you know what? That's pretty darn awesome. The thing is, the more I lean into my quirks, the more I feel like I'm living authentically. It's like I've given myself permission to just be me, no apologies necessary. And lemme tell ya, it's a whole new level of confiden ..read more

Daily kitchen chores are KILLING me.

For whatever reason, washing my dishes after every meal, day after day is the chore that puts me over the edge. I get so sick of it, especially when I start thinking that there is no one around to magically provide a little extra help here and there. It probably doesn’t help that I live (mostly) solo and can’t afford to hire a cleaning person or ear out very often. It’s starting to affect my overall productivity, because I keep pushing it off and get anxious staring at the never-ending pile. How to other people in similar situations keep their minds and living spaces from being thrown into ch ..read more
