With Coronavirus, it is hard to decide how to successfully manage your events. Should I host an event? Should I bring people together? What are the health implications? Virtual meetings eradicate almost all of these concerns and being virtual, our events can be put together and delivered in less than 24 hours. Messages can be delivered, and business can be done. In these troubling times, it’s more important than ever to keep your sparks sparking and this may have to be in the virtual world. As we work with a greater portfolio of venues and hotels, the more we are surprised by what is considered as good customer service. For me, customer service and delivery are at the heart of everything I do. I have never said no, I am always happy to help and believe that delivering good, old fashioned customer service is essential in helping to grow and maintain a strong client base. I say, ‘old fashioned’ as I feel that ‘modern’ customer service is very different. Good, old fashioned customer service is about respect, giving time and offering solutions that not only meet but exceed expectatio ..read more

In previous blogs, I have discussed the moral compass and how it has a role to play in event management. As Event Managers, I believe we have a moral obligation to select an event destination which embraces equal human rights and that offer equality based on race, gender, sexuality and religion. It is so sad that in 2018 there are many popular event destinations where laws a ..read more

This year has been extraordinary for global politics and it often feels we are in some strange brave new world. Irrespective of your political belief, no one really thought we would be facing a post-Brexit world for the UK. Equally, very few believed that Donald Trump would now be President of the United States. These landmarks in global politics have in part been fueled by economic and racial fear, a fear to embrace diversity and a multi-cultural society. Although this blog is not aimed to be a political rant or represent political opinion (as everyone has the right to their own opinion), we ..read more

As an Event Manager, I am always looking for the next new trend, the best new hotels and suppliers that push my imagination and event capabilities. It is these suppliers that help grow Clearwater Events and help us to continually deliver unique, innovative and exciting events for our clients. Now with the internet, things are so much easier and with a simple tap of keys and a click, a whole world of inspira ..read more
