How important is it that my domain match my brand name?

Hey all - trying to pick a name for my e-commerce website and I’m struggling with finding .com domains that work for the ideas. For example if I wanted to call my brand “banana” (dumb ex but you get it) I can’t find banana.com I could potentially do variations like shopbanana.com or something else. How important is it that my brand name match my domain? Keep hearing its super important but it’s starting to drive me insane that I can’t find a match for any of my brand name ideas. Would love to hear your opinions on how true this is. submitted by /u/astr0wvrld [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How Long Do Customers Have to Dispute a Transaction?

We had a customer issue a product not received dispute from an order back in June 2023 that was already delivered. I was under the impression after like 6 months they couldn't issue disputes so should we reference the timeframe in our response? We use Stripe and even with submitting mail tracking, delivery confirmation etc as we dont get a signature we still lose ~half of our disputes so just curious as this one is ~10 months old. submitted by /u/TexSIN [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What are your favorite marketplaces to sell on in Europe that aren't Amazon?

I know this will vary somewhat on product lines, but I'm trying to see what other marketplaces in Europe have a really good experience that is worth looking at. Do they have robust catalogs to match against or do you need to create all new products? How does the translation work if it's in a different region? submitted by /u/gneedles [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi All, Can anyone here provide feedback on venturing into the food category for ecommerce? I have spent the last 12 months working towards product concepts but had to scrap them I finally decided on a freeze dried meal for the luxury market with specifc branding to differentiate Just from a production, regulatory, operational admin perspective...is this potentially asking for massive headaches? It would contain meat Freeze drying is a secondary production step adding cost My main concern is, I'm running a lean start up model. I want to run a lean ecommerce brand and worry that food, spec ..read more

To put myself in context, I'm a business owner and professional for the last 10 years or so. Moderate success, nothing eye popping, but within my community people are finding me more and more. So, this year as one of my goals I want to help a company pro bono. I've noticed in my circle that most companies are ecommerce related. The question for this awesome community (that I've been lurking and learning) - "what are the immediate things that I can help an ecommerce company with that is high value, and can be unlocked by someone a few hours per week?" For example: if your answer is marketing ..read more

Turning a MLM into a dropshipping business

Edit: Ill take ur word for it guys. I guess i better spend my time and energy elsewhere and focus on adding some value to the world rather redirecting some stocks. just as the title says, im currently a uni student (terribly broke) considering turning a MLM membership into a dropshipping business. im thinking this idea is not so bad as to be avoided since: i dont handle inventory directly. funds are primarily for marketing purposes. as a member, i benefit of lower pricing (5-10%) and shipment is free (on the main distributer). legally im fine, i contacted the distributer and i already confi ..read more

How to make the brand look good even at the beginning?

So as a beginner, I have max. 3k Budget and I‘ve realized that any Manufacturer I contact on Alibaba I barely can afford the products with a simple logo on it and „garbage“ packaging. Like is there any chance to still make it look good? Is it still possible to get any sales with good feedback? I feel like everything needs to look great and I can’t afford to make everything look great about my product. I‘ve seen a video of a guy having multiple ecom businesses and someone actually asked a similar question and his answer was „of course you can, it’s all about the marketing, make good content an ..read more
