Did you know that is possible to manage OCI infrastructure from within a database? Now why would you want to do this over using the OCI landing zone, or managing changes through Terraform scripts? Well … sometimes you just need to I can imagine situations where this could be of interest. As many of you know, I have spent most of the last decade working with the sales related Oracle cloud applications. Looking for a way to manage how many credits your Autonomous database is consuming? One possible to consider is to use a capability called ‘Schedule Start and Stop Times’. This has been available for compute instances for quite a while, but is available for autonomous databases on Shared Exadata Infrastructure also. Schedule Start and Stop Times allows OCI administrators to schedule when databases come online or have to be turned off. This off course can also be done through scripting, but why would you if you can use clear and simple UI instead. This does not mean that they cannot run overnig ..read more

My account timeline report I created back in 2018, has since through a lot of iterations. And here is another one! I have seen it being implemented in many environments and that brings me a lot of joy.  Not so long ago, I got the question of whether or not it was possible to add appointments. Whether it was possible to create a more complete account timeline. Account Timeline v 2.0 Adding appointments did add a lot of data to the timeline and can easily hide any other type of information as there are usually so many more appointments than leads, opportunities, SR’s, … For this reason, I a ..read more

Kanban boards visually depict work at various stages of a process using cards to represent work items and columns to represent each stage of a process. Cards are moved from left to right to show progress and to help coordinate teams performing the work. Would it not be perfect to have an Opportunity Kanban in CX Sales? This is an evolution of a report I have been sharing for a while. The latest version is different as it now: a Kanban per close month with the ability to drag and drop opportunities from month to month, updating the close date in the background when double-clicking on the oppor ..read more

Vertical Funnel

The default funnel visualizations that come with CX Sales are horizontal and for good reason: They can pack a huge amount of information, put the pipeline in the context of a quota and much more, but that is a subject for a future post. I did get a few requests for a vertical funnel though, so I wanted to share my take on one with you. This highly configurable vertical sales funnel below show all open pipeline for the logged-in user and fits perfectly inside a 2×2 infolet. Want to give it a try?
