Crochet Bat – FREE Amigurumi Pattern
Hello Yellow Yarn

What did one bat say to another? Let’s hang out. What did the other bat say in response? What a fang-tastic idea! Okay, who doesn’t love a good pun? I love puns and I also love crocheting spooky cute themed amigurumis. I’ve designed a few Halloween-inspired amigurumis but I never made a bat. I think I was hesitant to make a bat because I didn’t want to use black yarn. But the beauty of amigurumi and crochet is that you can use any colour you like. So last weekend, I grabbed my hook and some yarn and got started on these. I love how the little wings wrap around the body, not all the way around ..read more

Meet Ollie the Quokka! When Simply Crochet magazine reached out to me late last year to design an Australian animal for their upcoming supplement issue, I was beyond excited. Of course, I couldn’t turn it down and because it’s Australian wildlife, I couldn’t wait to get my hooks working on a quokka! Ollie’s pattern is available in Simply Crochet magazine, issue 122. Out now. I’ve always wanted to design another Aussie animal. There’s Alfie the Koala, KC Koala and Mama Jill and Little Joey Kangaroo. Now I can add a quokka to the collection! There’s still plenty of down under wildlife out there ..read more

Easter is around the corner so here’s a quick and easy project for you – a cute sweet little bunny! I really love how simple and adorable the bunny turned out. Makes me smile everytime. They really look sweet don’t they? Like marshmallows especially if you use pastel colours. But of course, one of the beautiful things about amigurumi is you can use any colours you like for your projects. What are your traditions on Easter? Not too long ago during Easter Sunday, we would run an Easter Egg Hunt for my kids and their friends. The house would be filled with so many giggles and lots of chocolate a ..read more

Can you believe we are almost at the end of 2021? This year went by so fast. Well for me anyway and it will be Christmas time in less than three weeks! With that, let me introduce you to my final design for the year. Alfie the Christmas Koala! Isn’t he charming? When I sketched my Christmas design this year, I wanted to incorporate my home country of Australia and what better way to represent that than with the most iconic Australian animal!  Now I know some refer to them as “koala bears” but they are actually not bears. They are in fact marsupials. This means that they are born inside ..read more
