Recognition of a foreign divorce in Massachusetts

Hi, I am in the process of filing the K1 visa with form I-129F. I am a US citizen and my fiance is from France. He was previously married in Italy and both him and his ex-spouse are French and divorced in France. Because neither party lived in Italy, we received a letter stating USCIS needs to confirm that Massachusetts recognizes his foreign divorce. Does anyone have any idea how to get this letter of confirmation? I tried to contact the attorney general's office, but it is impossible to get anyone on the phone. Thank you. submitted by /u/beepbeepshibainu [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

USA Immigration question for my Gf 28 and her Son 11

My gf came in at a young age and got residency in the states because her dad was Cuban, from what I understand there was a unique way for her to enter and be approved for residency. Yet the judge did not allow her 18 month old son at the time to get it. She was advised to claim it in Mexico. They have been living here ever since and she is now working on her U.S. citizen ship. Is there a way for her to claim or aide her sons citizenship after she gets hers or what is someone's experience with this if any. Edit: I'm trying to help her and have noticed that on the US. government website it says ..read more

For how many years, US immigration F-4 visa can stay refused? My father is a retired army officer. It’s already been 1 year since the visa officer refused our visa application. Currently it’s under administration processing. My father had travelled many countries for office work & he had submitted the list of the countries with adequate informations via mail in answer to the Questionnaire we got at the day of our interview. As he cannot physically get police clearances of all the countries he visited, he submitted a document of his being cleared of any illegal activities from the "Militar ..read more

I applied for a TN Visa for my and TD for my family. Using attorney and full sponsorship from my current employer in Mexico. I am an accountant and I was promoted to oversee manufacturing operations in both Mexico and USA with a temporary plan to relocate to a USA city with my family. I went to Mexico City Consulate to have my interview, with all paperwork aligned from my attorney: degree and transcripts (college and MBA from a USA School), employer sponsorship documents, etc), but, CO requested me to show a current certification to work as an accountant in either Mexico or USA, or at least a ..read more

Frequent international travel on U.S. green card - Will visiting my girlfriend abroad jeopardize my status or future citizenship?

I'm a green card holder living and working remotely in the United States. Recently, I've been taking frequent extended weekend trips to visit my girlfriend in a South American country. During my last re-entry to the U.S., I was interrogated by border control for 6 hours, and they confiscated my electronic devices without explanation before allowing me in (but they didn't say anything to me in the end). This experience has left me frustrated and concerned about my future travel plans. My main questions are: Can frequent short trips abroad to visit my girlfriend potentially jeopardize my U.S ..read more

Hi! After 4 years my husband has finally been scheduled at Islamabad. I’m in the US and he’s in Pakistan. I did get pregnant when I visited 2 years ago and have 2 kids now. I never reported the birth, was I supposed to? Will they ask him at the interview about children? Obviously we didn’t have any at the time we filled the NVC paperwork. Should I upload the birth certificates on NVC since I think till my interview date I can still add documents? Will I need to send him their original birth certificates? I also don’t work anymore, but I did when I applied. Do I need to send anything or update ..read more

Steps to moving to the US

I am a US citizen through my mother with a CRBA and a passport and a SSN. My partner is a US citizen through birth in the US. We have a son born here abroad. We are wondering what are the appropriate steps to take to get my son US citizenship. I have looked online and it seems that for a child born to two US citizens, as long as one has "resided" in the US, my son can obtain US citizenship. However, I am not sure what counts as "resides" in the US. My partner lived there only for a year. Other than doing my Master's at a US university, I did not live in the US. submitted by /u/Dry-Elevator75 ..read more

My father applied to renew his B1/B2 visa in January 2023 and was given a 221g paper asking for documents. After that there has been no update on his case. There are two confusing statements at the moment. When I contact them I get an email saying 'Your case has been updated, please log back into your account to view the details.' Yet there's no update as of January 2023. Another response I got was, 'With regards to your query, we see that, the status of your passport is created, which means that the passport is with the Embassy/Consulate and under processing.' However, the passport was retur ..read more
