...and trying to make some sense of what has happened over the last couple of years! My last blog post was ages ago... ...simply because I wouldn't have had much of anything to write about. Health issues are still hanging around... ...but emotionally I am much better able to deal with things... ...and want, somehow, to get a new focus. I NEED my creative life back again and this is a start. There may not be much going on until the New Year... ...but, just to let you all know... ...I am back in my workroom and fiddling around with "stuff". I have missed all of this... ...and all of you ..read more

I really don't know just where the time is going... ...and this little piece should have been done 'n' dusted last month... ...but... ...it's done now... ...and that makes THREE in the Little House series :-) I am so enjoying the small finishes (even if they take a while longer than I thought originally)... ...but with all the treatment going on, there are days when I just cannot do anything except sleep. I have pulled out the next chart..... "The Clock Shop"..... ....and will make a beginning on the snow this weekend. :-) I think that my next post might contain a bit more than cr ..read more

Well.... after another spell in hospital in January... ...I got a bit behind with my stitching schedule. However... ...I am glad to be able to report that the next "Little House Needleworks" project is now finished! We had "The Bookstore" in January... ...and February brings "The Coffee Shop" These little cross stitch projects are so relaxing to do... ...and I love the little buildings :-) This has now been ironed and put into my "treasure box" for safe keeping... ...until I decide just how I want to display them when the series is complete. Hoping you are all safe and well. x C ..read more

I know some of you will have been picking up bits and pieces from my Facebook page... ...so I won't be going into details here. Enough to say that 2022 is going to be a "challenging" year... ...in so many ways... ...but I have to try to keep myself both occupied and positive. Nothing too difficult...or large.... ...just small little pieces of counted work for now. Ones that bring a smile to my face... .....gladness to my heart... ...and a sense of achievement when each one is finished. Small steps..... Here is the first one of January 2022... ..."The Bookstore" from Little House Needle ..read more

During the last few weeks I have managed to get quite a few bits done! Different stitching... ...has given me a new-found enthusiasm for "free-style" embroidery...  I tried to use as many bits of thread as I could... ...and was very pleased with the results! :-) Visiting a friend who sadly lost her husband last year... ....I made a couple of cwtchy-teddies out of Peter's tee-shirts... ...so that she can still "hold" him. Xxxxxx They are sitting in the garden.... ...which has come on a treat. Considering we had nowt but concrete to start with... ...it is now a space to ..read more

After having spent quite some time researching background info for Selena's sampler... ...we decided to take ourselves off for a pootle around Blaenavon... ....where she lived her short life. (I sent for her death certificate by the way.....and discovered that she died of "Scarlatina - 6 days" in December 1863 at the age of 21.) Managed to find the site of her home...now an industrial estate... ....but went on down the hill towards Llanfoist and came across a VERY SPECIAL PLACE.... ...called Garnddyrys. This was made quite famous in Alexander Cordell's "Rape of the Fair Country" and is t ..read more
