I just graduated in December with a bachelor's in Finance and Accountancy, and have been working at a firm since then. I am full-time right now, working about 9 hours M-TH and 4 on Friday. I want to take the CPA exam as I have 150 credits, but am unsure on where to start and also how I should study. My firm gives a bonus for new hires completing the CPA exam in under a year of employment, and also pays for the exam and study materials. So I want to pass all parts of the exam before April 15. Is this reasonable and how should I accomplish this? submitted by /u/CanyonStonecipher [visit reddit ..read more

How long does it take for Becker Academic Support to get back to you regarding a question about a MCQ? I’ve sent several over the past 3 weeks and have never heard back. I am getting a bit frustrated. submitted by /u/lasvegasmonkey1 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Just received the notification that I am CPA eligible and can sit for the exams, does this mean I satisfied the education requirement for licensure?

In Georgia it is allowed for CPA candidates to do the exams before meeting the education requirement of the licensure. Basically the requirements to sit for the CPA exams is 120 credits including 30 in accounting, the education requirements for the licensure is 150 credits in total, 30 in accounting and 24 in business. I know for sure I satisfied the accounting and business credits requirement but I don’t know for sure if I satisfied the 150 total credits requirement for the licensure. All my class between my bachelor and my MBA should total to 151 but I have certain classes that could be cou ..read more

How heavily should I study the investments chapter in FAR? (Debt & Equity Securities). This chapter is kicking my butt and I’m worried I won’t have enough time to fully understand the rest of the material because I’m wasting so much time on this chapter. I’m averaging 60% on this chapter for reference. submitted by /u/Previous_Focus_3889 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

FAR study rant

Studying for this actually makes me want to cry all the time. Am I the only one who feels like I get through the lectures and mildly understand and then I get to the MCQs and am lucky if I get a few right. It makes me feel like the stupidest person alive. FAR is going to be my worst nightmare. Becker does such a shit job explaining things in my opinion. Just wanted to rant otherwise my fist might go through my monitors. Also doesn’t help when my husband is screaming at video games all while trying to studying after I’ve asked him to be quiet :’) submitted by /u/Jazzlike_Data_5585 [visit redd ..read more

Rant about schedule release

The new schedule releases are complete bullshit, I just can’t get over it. My sister took a test from Prometric and got her score back IMMEDIATELY. Family members keep asking me if I passed and I have to explain to them that I don’t get it back till August essentially. It should not take 4 months to get a score back from a COMPUTERIZED exam. I don’t care if they need to “aggregate” the scores for their own bullshit or set some sort of curve, IT SHOULDNT TAKE THIS LONG. Studying for a different exam while not knowing if I even passed the last one is humiliating. I should’ve waited until all th ..read more
