Hi! I am currently studying for my FAR exam. I’ve been using UWorld and I’ve got as far as PP&E and been going fairly well. I am looking for a group to study together, hold each other accountable, and discuss any issues we might have while studying. If anybody is interested please let me know :) submitted by /u/Ok-Effective-9189 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

TCP Becker Update Coming in June

I'm taking REG in 2 weeks and will plan on taking TCP afterwards at the end of July. For anyone in this same position, just be aware that Becker is doing an update to the TCP textbook that will come out in early June 2024. I doubt that any changes that they're making will be drastic--probably just 2024 indexing. Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone would rather wait to order the updated version as the textbooks are $125 a pop now. Come to think of it, though, starting in early June and being ready by end of July is probably cutting it close. Didn't realize the testing window ..read more

How long will it take to take to finish the education needed to become a CPA? (Non-related bachelors)

My state is Florida. I have a completely unrelated bachelor's of science. No accounting or business classes. I know I need to have 24 semester hours of accounting and then 24 semester hours of business classes covered. So if a semester is typically 12 semester hours, is it really going to take 2 whole years for me to get the credits just to be able to take the CPA exam? Am I understanding this correctly? What's the easiest way to get these credits? Help would be appreciated for anyone who has been in my spot. submitted by /u/Throwaway8283i3u4 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’ve been going through the sims for the first time and I’d say out of 20 there’s probably 1 or 2 that I’ve got better than a 75% on. Is anyone else having the same experience? Planning on absolutely hammering sims during reviews and mock exams/learning more after I’ve seen it for the first time and taking notes submitted by /u/toomzz96 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So I’m basically new here, took my undergrad outside of US, and I’m planning to take the US CPA. Finally had the courage to take the veryyy first step - credential evaluation. To be honest I’m scared I won’t even get to qualify to sit for the exam being the overthinker that I am. While waiting for it to go through, I just wanted to hear from you guys.. what do you think is best thing to do while waiting for the evaluation? I’m currently doing the free trials of review prep courses like Becker and Uworld (i’m still confused!!!) Do you think it would be wise to invest on a CPA review course as ..read more
