Been hesitant to post here, but I’m a 23yr old dude with severe scoliosis that my parents neglected into my adulthood. The pain is pretty bad everyday and the two times I’ve seen orthopedic surgeons they say they are hesitant to operate due to my age, and have me attend physical therapy that ultimate doesn’t aid that much. My parents also deny the fact that I’ve been neglected and offer no help at all with assisting in anything to do with it, we got into a big fight that ended up in me leaving the house when I brought it up. I guess I’d just like opinions, I’d like to get the surgery. Do ..read more

Who else is in pain right now?

My sciatica is flaring up right now, I think I over did it at work (physical job) and didn’t give my body proper rest. Hurts like a bitch from my ass down to my calf. Have a doc appointment on Monday so hopefully I can figure out how to manage this pain. Hurts to stand, walk, sit, and now laying down is a bitch too? Anyone else out there in pain right now who needs to vent? submitted by /u/macsbeard [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Just quit my job because of pain.

I've been considering it for months now and finally sent in my notice today. Even though it feels like the right decision, I still feel so discouraged. It required lots of heavy lifting, bending, and long periods on my feet, to the point where I could barely walk at the end of the day from the pain (even utilizing PTs and pain meds). It's just scary and disappointing to be jobless now :( submitted by /u/Real_Penalty_7817 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

i haven’t asked my orthopedic doctor yet because he’s not very kind and i don’t know if this is even possible. i got a spinal fusion with instrumentation from T1-L1 three years ago. i hate it. i can’t stand not bending and i have a lot of discomfort that i wont really get into. it would be the biggest dream if i could get the rods removed but still have a straight spine. is this possible?? i’m done growing now, i’d love to do it. if you know anything about this, please let me know. i want to know what it’s called/how much it costs. that is, if it’s even a real procedure that could work. thank ..read more

Since I had my surgery mid March this year, I'm obviously gonna wait until sometime next year. But I just wanna know if it's something I should avoid? I really love going on different rides at amusement parks, so I just wanna know if I still can or if it's just best to stay away from stuff like that submitted by /u/emomfs [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
