So i am basically drumming for 2yrs now. I always have used headphones to protect my ears from extra noise and also play some songs while listening it on the headphone. So my question is am I doing it wrong ? like when I play drums like even the moderate sound parts either I cant hear the music so I have to turn it up.. turning it up hurts my ears.. and if i turn it down i can listen MORE drums than the actual backbeat... Has it always been like this or am I doing something wrong ? also please suggest if other ear protection things are needed keeping in mind that i want not only the protectio ..read more

Hey so i’ve had an acoustic kit in the past (stage custom) and i’ve been playing at home with electronic drums for a few years and im needing a snare to use for recording and gigs. I have a budget of around £250 or $312 and im looking for a Quality drum with great versatility and the ability to tune very high and very low. Currently looking at the Ludwig supralite 14x6.5 and the PDP concept maple 13x7. If you could give me any advice then that would be greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/Icy-Chemical1322 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

2002 19” Crash

I currently have a mix of Zildjian and Sabian cymbals, including a couple 18” Sabian HHX crashes (Evolution & Xplosion). I recently heard a 19” Paiste 2002 Crash and decided I want one. Now, this was within a set of other 2002’s, so obviously they completed each other well. Would a 2002 fit in well with what I currently have? My other cymbals include a 21” A Sweet Ride Brilliant, 14” k hats, 14” new beats, 20” Hhx Evolution ride (used as crash), and 20” HH Classic Ride (also used as crash). I’m thinking that due to the difference in alloys, the 2002 would clash with my other cymbals. Or s ..read more

So, i had the worst luck of my life, playing through a set list for my vce music class, and my stick broke, (pic 1 i snapped the tip again out of anger). Now thats fine and normal considering i was playing something heavy, but, it flung off at such a rate that it broke my tv, from about 5 or 6 meters away (pic 2+3), what the actual heck. What are the god damned chances of that, im so pissed off and perplexed at the same time, by the look of it it would have had to fly in a weird curve and hit the tv tip or end first, but how in the world did it fly off that fast, ive had many near deadly ..read more

Drum Throne for tall people

Hello all, as the title suggests, I am looking for a new drum throne to replace my current one (Millenium DTRAB-1118). It's comfortable and I've had it a while but as I've been learning more double-kick, I realize that I'm just not sitting high enough. My legs are 34 inches long so I could do with some extra height so gravity can do more of the work rather than my muscles. Does anyone have any suggestions? submitted by /u/NotNerd-TO [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
