Hello friends. It’s the second day of Spring and we’ve had snow for two days in a row. But even though Spring is MIA, I’m creating spring at home with these pretty Pansy Topped Shortbread Sugar Cookies.  Don’t forget to check out the rest of the yummy spring desserts at the end of this post. Even though these look so beautiful, they are so easy to make and would look so beautiful at a brunch or any party.  I’ve made these before for a Mother’s Day table. YOU CAN SEE HERE.  I think the key to these is to not bake the cookies with the pansies. Instead, I used THIS method instea ..read more

Hi friends. Happy St.Patty’s Day. Though I’ve never understood the fascination with St Patrick’s day, I do enjoy seeing people dress in green and go out to ‘celebrate’. Speaking of St.Patrick’s Day, a few years ago, my sister did a DNA test and it turns out we’re about 14% Irish. I found it so interesting. But I digress, today I want to share with you this pretty Blue Hyacinth Spring Flower Arrangement in a Blue Bowl.  I love putting together these ‘live’ arrangements. They’re so easy and you can use any vessel. You just have to use some sort of liner so it doesn’t get damaged.  Y ..read more

Hello friends. Happy Thursday. I’m excited to join my friends and share with you some pretty spring wreaths. I will be making a spring wreath using Magnolias from The Dollar Tree. I also used an old grapevine wreath so it was very budget friendly. Like I mentioned before, I purchased these magnolias from The Dollar Tree. They don’t look as great when they’re in a bunch… But once you remove them from the stem and place them individually, they look great!  I got this stem from The Dollar Store and it’s also so pretty. I placed it first on the wreath. I then started to place the indivi ..read more

I was at the Dollar Tree the other day and saw some pretty magnolia bunches and decided to make them into a beautiful DIY Faux Magnolia Branch.   Hubby and I were taking a little walk through our local neighbourhood. He mentioned they ha ..read more

Hello friends. Happy New week. We finally had a sunny day and it was glorious. I can’t believe how much a little sun makes such a big difference. Today I want to share a cute little Galentine’s gift idea, though you can give this any time of year and I challenge you to do so. I found these cute coffee cups at the Dollar store and thought how sweet it would be to fill one cup with flowers and one with coffee and a little treat. You can of course use your favourite coffee place cups to gift. You can add some cookies (I baked these cute heart ones) a doughnut or even a gift card. So cu ..read more

How to make wax melts from old candles

Hi again friends. Day two of affordable gifts. This one is one of my favourites because not only is it affordable but I love that it’s a great way to upcycle. This is How to make wax melts from old candles. How many times have you had old candles not burn all the way to the bottom? It feels like such a waste. There are many ways to upcycle the jars by emptying the wax residue but what if we also recycled the wax itself? I simply placed the candle jar into a pot of boiling water to allow the wax to melt. Once melted, I poured it into these chocolate molds. You of course can use prettier molds ..read more
