I was looking at main brands but there's barely anything out there in the zigbee protocol
Most are tuya on aliexpress etc.
I'm a but weary of those. Does anyone have recommendations?
Real world experience with any, good or bad?
I have a lot of smart devices, cameras, door switches, lighting, door locks, bell, plugs etc.
Not found anything in an brands I already have or an unsure of them... Philips hue, Google home, Alexa, zemismart, tuya, switchbot, meross, and more.
I want a reliable product with no issue with a smoke alarm.

Idk if that's even a thing? But I'm Interested in the idea and I'd like to gather data about but it's so hard to find info. I'd also prefer to not have to start from scratch. Basically I'd like to set up a network so the devices could communicate, but I don't want to expose them to the internet. If that makes sense?

Looking for one available as a consumer item (not a kit or board level) that provides a simple switch closure. NO Wifi or Zigbee connection wanted. NO computer required.
Will be used for indoor alarm system.
Anyone have any leads on where to find one? THANKS!

I have a outdoor gate that I (and many other redditors judging by a search I did) want to install a weatherproof waterproof outdoor smart lock but it doesn't exist. All the ones on the market are waterproof for the exterior side (keypad side) but not the other side. I installed a Schlage and caulked around it but during a rainstorm water still got in and broke it. This was 5 years ago. I did another search now thinking for sure some major company made one but NOPE. What a HUGE void in the market. I'm looking for one that also has a key option as well (for backup). Please don't post DIY option ..read more

Has anyone used iblinds to control Norman SmartPrivacy faux wood blinds (marketing term, they aren’t smart in the home automation sense)? They appear to meet the iblinds requirements, except the tilt rod exits the blind header at an angle on the side bottom, and not flat. I’m not sure why iblinds says that won’t work.

Looking for external temperature monitor so it can monitor the temperature near my couch rather than by the plug. This external temperature monitor would connect to the smart plug to auto turn on the plug when temperature goes above a specific temperature.
My AC doesn't have remote capabilities, but it's just knob based. It has this plug https://i.imgur.com/Rmj0D6U.jpg

Any recommendations for a Zwave leak sensor that works with the Ezlo hub?
Many of the ones they recommend are discontinued, and those that aren't, are really designed for sump pumps (long leads with probes).
I've tried the Zigbee ones, but they are simply not reliable around my WiFi, even after adjusting channels.
Ideally, it would be small, without a lead / probe (just contacts on the bottom), similar to the Aeotec Zigbee one, just Zwave.

Hello World!
I have am starting out in my Home Automation Journey. Currently I have
HomeAssistant
Proxy Server
Overseerr
Google Home Speakers
1x Speaker
1x Nest
Seedbox (Hosted Externally)
Plex
Radarr
Sonarr
SmartLights across my house
My question is, would switching across to Apple Home kit be better for handling requests from a Voice Assistant/ Streaming Music from Apple Music vs Spotify. I have looked at a few different Reddit Posts and most of them are a year old so I was wondering has there been anything improved in that last year.
TIA
