Rockies try to avoid yet another sweep
The Colorado Rockies will look to avoid getting swept once again as they face off against the San Francisco Giants in game three of the series at Coors Field. The Rockies showed some life offensively on Wednesday but fell short, however they will look to build on that momentum on Thursday afternoon.
Keaton Winn takes the mound for the Giants looking to rebound from his last start against the Phillies in which he collected just two outs while giving up five runs on four hits. Previously he had thrown at lea ..read more

Colorado Rockies news and links for Wednesday, May 8, 2024
There is no gentle way to say it, but the Colorado Rockies offense has been awful. Despite some solid performances to begin the year from the likes of Ezequiel Tovar, Brenton Doyle, Ryan McMahon and Elias Díaz, the unit as a whole has struggled in many areas and fallen well short of expectations. Even those off to strong starts are still struggling with specific things that can be traced throughout the lineup. There are a myriad of issues plaguing the team that we can (and probably will) continue to ..read more

The Rockies will look to set a winning tone for this home stand.
After coming off a three-series road trip, the Colorado Rockies (8-26) are back home in the comfortable confines of Coors Field, welcoming in the San Francisco giants (15-21).
Colorado’s 8-26 record in 2024 is their worst start through 34 games in franchise history. In fact, the Rockies are the only team in the Majors this season without a series win or a winning streak. (For all you trivia buffs, the longest single-season stretch without consecutive wins in franchise history was a 35-game s ..read more

The Rockies lack a few things, and intensity may be one of them
Baseball, in general, is a slow, methodical game.
When considering the major American sports, baseball’s pace is the slowest, and there can be full minutes between the action. That's partly why baseball is often called “the thinking person’s game.”
But what if, instead of approaching baseball so logically and pragmatically, someone were to come in with a head of steam? A maverick, if you will?
It’s that kind of edge that the 2024 Colorado Rockies seem to lack at present. Right now, they appear ..read more

Colorado Rockies news and links for Monday, May 6th, 2024
It’s no secret that the Colorado Rockies are a bad baseball team. Their 8-26 record ties them with the Chicago White Sox for the worst in all of Major League Baseball, and they are the only team in the league yet to win a series or even string together consecutive wins. The Rockies only on Friday snapped an MLB record streak of 31 consecutive games trailing at some point to start the season.
After being swept by fellow bottom feeders the Miami Marlins—twice in walk-off fashion—and a team meeting was ca ..read more

The Rockies will try to get their first series win.
Today, the Rockies will try to change course. After being walked off in the second game of their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Colorado Rockies (8-25) will look to win the rubber match and take their first series of 2024.
Taking the mound for the Rockies will be Ryan Feltner, who has a 5.13 ERA (33.1 IP, 33 Ks) on the season. In his last start, Feltner had the best game of his career, which ultimately went terribly wrong in the ninth inning.
The Pirates will start Bailey Falter (4.22 ERA in 34.0 in ..read more

The Rockies will try to get their first series win.
After winning the series opener, 3-2, the Colorado Rockies (8-24) will look to continue their winning ways against the Pittsburgh Pirates (14-19).
Yesterday’s win snapped the Rockies’ five-game losing streak and 10-game losing streak away from Coors Field. They have yet to win consecutive games this season or a series. Both are the longest such streaks in franchise history.
They will look to change that today.
Taking the mound for the Rockies will be Austin Gomber, who has a 4.40 ERA (32.0 IP, 22 Ks) on the ..read more

Colorado Rockies weekend discussion thread for May 4-5, 2024
It’s pretty clear that the 8-23 Colorado Rockies are not a good baseball team.
However, last night, they got a rare road win, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2. Plus, they stopped an historic skid.
The streak is over:
The Colorado Rockies, for the first time this season, never trailed in a game, winning. 3-2 over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The streak ends after an MLB record 31 games.
