Hello everyone,
First of all let me say that English isn't my main language, so please excuse any mistake I might make
I'm female with 36y and recently diagnosed with chrons.
The last 2 years i've had many episodes of diahrea and the last year I was going to the hospital emergency every 2 or 3 months with abdominal pain and vomits that could only stop with intravenous medication. Short story they gave me medication and sent me home.
Back in August 23 I got admitted to the emergency...

My only symptom seems to be diarrhea and ‘
I believe I had diarrhea for years before my
cronh’s diagnosis , but I always assumed the
diarrhea was due to me being a coffee-holic
and would have diarrhea after coffee and cream.
So is my only way to know if I am having
a Flare is by checking my stool consistency.
My stools are Much better since starting
drinking liquid EN diet - consuming lots of
‘ensure’ or other protein drinks.
My GI doc has not suggested any testing
at all …so...

Drinking ensure or premier protein has helped a lot …my stools are often about 90% better since initiating
the drinking of 3 or 4 bottles daily of EN.
I notice there are prescribed, more expensive EN formulas
Will my gastroenterologist be willing to prescribe it or can he ?
I have both medicare and VA healthcare.
The VA seems to just want to infuse me with zedolizimab and I’m going in tomorrow to talk about that and I am
probably going to refuse for now because the ‘ensure’ is working so...

I'm starting my Skyrizi injections tomorrow morning. I was wondering what you all do for that 2 hours while the needle is going? I've never done anything like this before, so it's all new to me. Can you please give me some ideas how to pass the time? Thanks ..read more

Hi,
my daughter had blood work done before iron infusion, did not get chance to discuss the results with the doctor yet, but how wuld you interpret these results? I see from it she is anemic, but I also see her CRP and sed rate is within normal range. I do not understand this. She has not started Humira yet due to insurance delay. She was diagnosed sometime in January with Crohn. She has no symptoms at all. before this blood work she was on penicilin due strep. not sure if this has something...

Has anyone's kids done the pills? My 14 year old DD has to have a colonoscopy soon. In the past she's always thrown up the Miralax prep and the Citrate one about 3/4 of the way through. So her GI suggested trying Suprep this time, and she has the option to do the liquid or the pills. I'm wondering if the pills would be easier (24 pills split into two doses.) If you have experiences with the liquid version, was your child able to tolerate it? Thank you ..read more

So I am a HLA-DQA1*05 carrier (a gene mutation present in around 30% of Europeans, and quite substantial in the Western world in general) and have read in many recent studies that unless something called "therapeutic drug monitoring" and "proactive drug optimisation" is used, the risk of developing secondary loss of response to anti-TNFs is substantially increased with this allele. I never took a biologic so I am not really clear on what this means, and how I can ask my doctor assurances for...

Hi everyone. So I was diagnosed with Crohn’s in 2007 and started on azathioprine, and then we added Remicade in April of 2014 when I developed a partial obstruction from stenosis in my terminal ileum. My GI hoped it was just inflammation and would respond to the Remicade, but by August I was mostly juicing because I couldn’t pass food through my TI and I ended up in surgery. I had a small bowel resection and three strictureplasties. Since recovering from surgery, and after a little fiddling...

I have had 6 bowel movements today and my butt is on fire. 6 in the 3 hours I’ve been up! I started this in March of 2023 and still don’t have a definitive diagnosis! First doctor did all the stuff needed ( stool samples, blood, colonoscopy, radiology, so many meds) and first said lymphatic colitis. 4 months later while it got worse she did an endoscopy and flex sig and changed it to ulcerative colitis. But she also said you are not hitting anything out of the ballpark diagnosis wise! Fed up...
