We've had another great week in kindergarten!  Raffle tickets for the themed baskets and tickets to be chosen as a player, cheerleader, mascot or announcer for the Student/Staff Basketball Game are still on sale! As a reminder, the Student/Staff Basketball game is March 12th at 6:30 (Doors open at 6:00) at Lakeview Middle School. "How To" Writing and Addition/Subtraction

We have been busy working hard in Kindergarten this week!  Our students have been creating "how-to" stories giving detailed descriptions for how to complete a task.  We are working hard to use transition words like first, next, then, and last when we are writing our directions.  In addition, we are working to remember writing conventions and use proper capitalization, punctuation, and spelling for our Kindergarten words.  We are having a lot of fun writing these books! Welcome to Kindergarten in 2020!  We have been spending a lot of time practicing and remembering our classroom and school rules.   Rules keep us safe and help us learn! Shapes, Super Powers, Sounding Out Words!

Math Workshop-we worked hard this week analyzing and comparing 2D and 3D shapes!  In doing so, we have worked hard to identify the attributes of both 2D and 3D shapes (vertices, lines, edges, faces, etc.). Reader's Workshop-we continue to read using the "super powers"  This week, we focused on Pattern Power - recognizing patterns in books.  In addition, we practiced going on picture hunts and word hunts in our books.  These would be great skills to practice at home! Wow!  We have had a busy week of learning.  Please read to discover what we have been up to! Reader's Workshop:  We are learning to read with the "Reader's Super Powers".  Here is an overview of the "Powers" we will be learning throughout this unit. 1.
