December is a special time of the year. The weather finally changes (in Phoenix it drops below 80) and holiday decorations fill every corner. We open our hearts and wallets to important causes and enjoy time with friends and family. My kitchen will soon be full of blue and green cookies to share before a quick trip to Disneyland. I love to see all the different AFWA chapter events including holiday parties, wine and paint nights, happy hours, fundraisers, community service projects, and even a few technical CPE hours.
We are half-way through our ..read more

“My Life in Full”
Life Lessons from Indra Nooyi
Indra Nooyi, former CEO and Chairman of Pepsi is an iconic role model and trailblazer. As the first woman of color and immigrant who rose to become the CEO of a Fortune 50 company, her success is extra-ordinary. I enjoyed every chapter and page in her book, narrated in her distinctive voice (in the online version). I also attended a virtual fireside chat with her. Her energy was very strong and palpable even in an online setting. Her striking smile, intelligence and warm personality are evident from her conversations.
Her life story is packed wit ..read more

“There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to
conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the
introduction of a new order of things.” —Niccolo Machiavelli

and elaborate threads. It has brought with it an expectation of instant, revolving
connection in both personal and professional regards. In this new order, employees exist
in, and outside of, a traditional office and awareness for both society ..read more
