Have a new rmt, technically very good, pressure very deep which is what I like. But he's a bit out of sync with my breathing. I've tried to explain what I like but doesn't seem to get the trick. What can I do to feed this back to him? submitted by /u/TrouserGradeGlass [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question for lmts?

so i’m considering going to school to be a lmt. i’ve been researching jobs in my area to get an idea of pay rates. however, i noticed many places offer benefits if you’re full time. but from my understanding, while being a massage therapist, you shouldn’t do full time cuz it seriously messes you up. i’m located in florida, usa. so obviously, we have zero labor laws and the fact they even offer benefits is awesome, but is it worth it ? is it worth to work full time to get benefits but suffer physically? what do you guys do? what do you suggest? thanks in advance submitted by /u/ungodlycum666 ..read more

Best scrub pants for massage?

Healing Hands apparently got bought out and big time enshittified. I need scrubs for clinical work and its a nightmare to shop for. I am a tall and broad person so theres a lot of stress at the crotch seam and most "nursing" scrubs blow out or limit my movement when doing lunges or squatting submitted by /u/Zetta-slow-Gobbo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Had a massage yesterday and some parts of my body sound crunchy when I move? Is that normal? Please read

Hey everyone. I hope I’m posting this in the right group. I had an upper body massage yesterday because I work at a sedentary job and I have anxiety. I went to a massage therapist for an hour yesterday and she really had to dig into my sub occipital muscles to get the knots out. I feel relief but I notice when I move certain ways I can hear like a crunching sound in some parts of my body. Is this normal? She’s been a massage therapist for years and has great reviews. Hello! I’m about to have a medical massage that my health insurance covers with a $20 copay. Is a tip necessary? If so, how much? I’ve never tipped anyone for a medical appointment before but confused about this one. Thanks! submitted by /u/No-Neighborhood2600 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Increase the last few months in inappropriate massage requests

I’m the manager of a local massage studio with 12 LMT’s and a front desk staff. Recently we’ve noticed an uptick in phone calls and inappropriate situations in treatment rooms the last few months. I’ve worked front desk and management in this industry for over six years and this is always somewhat of an issue, but in my opinion the trend seems to be changing. What we’re noticing in our studio is an uptick in phone calls, primarily younger men very directly asking for handjobs, happy endings, etc. Previously, clients would use alluding verbiage but now it’s much more direct and a younger demog ..read more

I can’t find answers to this anywhere. After I graduated and started, I fostered a cat from a rescue shelter while they looked for a home for him and I fell in love with him and wanted to keep him so badly but he would howl and meow during massages when kept outside. I tried everything from fermones to automatic laser toys to food to fixed schedule. I was always fostering but he was my first cat after I started my practise. It’s been 1 year I haven’t had a pet and it’s SO lonely I thought I’d get over it but… at the same time I would be lying if I say that cat I fostered didn’t make me anxiou ..read more

I’m not crying, you’re crying! Oh wait no, that’s me… I was a practicing massage therapist for about 7 years before moving to another state. I never got my license and 10 years have passed… I finally decided to get licensed and the thought of taking the MBLEX after being out of school for 17 years was DAUNTING. To say the least lol. I almost fainted as I waited for my results, I thought for sure I failed. I found it to be a difficult test. But I PASSED. I still can’t believe it. I just wanted to share my good news with those that understand!!! submitted by /u/chickenlittlepickle [visit reddi ..read more

Can I work under chiropractor if my massage license lapsed in TX?

Trying to find this info online with no luck. I’ve had my license for well over 10 years but let it lapse last year as I’ve switched careers and have been working full time in e-commerce for years. Decided to pick it back up as a second gig to save up quicker for a down payment on a home. Am I able to work under a chiropractor doing massage in their office even though my license lapsed? I live in Texas. Thank you in advanced submitted by /u/GimmieDatCooch [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
