I read about Jason Paugh of Red House, near Deep Creek Lake, officially becoming the fourth Master Angler awarded under the Maryland Department of Natural Resources’ FishMaryland program. The highest award in the program recognizes the skill and determination required to catch ten trophy-size fish species in Maryland that all meet the minimum award sizes. Congratulations, Jason! Fishing on Deep Creek Lake Jason caught a lot of fish to receive this designation, including a crappie. He hooked most of them on Deep Creek Lake. Trout stocking in Garrett County, Maryland, is an annual event where trout are released into local streams and rivers to supplement the natural population of trout and provide recreational fishing opportunities for anglers. The subject matter around fly fishing has always been one of my favorites. Brook Trout Garrett County has several popular trout fishing destinations, including the Savage River, the North Branch Potomac River, and the Youghiogheny River.
