3 weeks of severe insomnia has resulted in me missing much of work and has been extremely disruptive. Not to mention my physical well being has taken a toll. If I were to go to a walk in clinic does anyone have insight what medication they may prescribe? submitted by /u/SizzleMcStewfry [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Ambien tolerance

21 M 142 lbs I have been taking ambien for two months now maybe twice a week on average. Not everyday. In the beginning, 5-10 mg used to work everytime until very quickly, which is now, 30 mg is the standard to get me to sleep. As I said I only take it twice a week, spaced apart. My question is why is my tolerance so suddenly high and is it because maybe ambien doesn’t work well for me? Are there better alternatives? My main problem is falling asleep. submitted by /u/cyrusssh [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I was first diagnosed with Insomnia at just 7 years old, it happened when I was sectioned due to what they called "a bid for oblivion" without getting into details I found myself in a secure ward for 6 months. Now 32 years later its gotten worse, I have been to sleep trails, still remember the results of the last time I was there "257 minutes of intermittent sleep" & that was with heavy sleeping medications I was allowed to take with me Zopiclone I still remember that Godly medication they put me on for 2 years & suddenly took me off it saying I wasn't supposed to be on it for that lo ..read more

I am in need of real help please I suffered head trauma 2 years ago. Flew off my bike and went head first. In NYC down a hill. Was doing at least 20 mph. Woke up in an ambulance. Ended up with an concussion, fractured right elbow, 4 staples on right side of my head and lots of road rash. Sent home with a script for Motrin. Fast forward to 2 months ago I fully suffer all symptoms of insomnia. I'm scared as shit to go see a doctor. Any advice besides the obvious of seeing a doctor? submitted by /u/osoblancobx [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello! Three weeks ago I got prescribed Clarithromycin 500 mg by my doctor and ever since taking the first pill I’ve dealt with insomnia and adrenaline rushes at night. I stopped the antibiotic after the second pill because of the terrible side effects (palpitations, anxiety, was feeling dizzy, had numbness in arms and legs etc) but I’m still dealing with some of them.. Luckily, the anxiety has decreased over the past 3 weeks (although I’m still feeling anxious compared to how I was before - I’ve never really dealt with it before) but I’m still having trouble sleeping most nights, I’m sometim ..read more

Xanax vs klonopin

so i’ve been taking xanax for over 4 years now and it’s been the only med i’ve had that’s been able to let me sleep without pretty severe reactions, unfortunately it takes at least 2 mg to even help me attempt to fall asleep and i get 60 mg a month, so that on top of using it for panic attacks usually leads to me running out before each month is over, recently i got prescribed klonopin too but i’ve been a little scared to use it due to my history with sleep meds, has anyone had any severe reactions to klonopin or is it similar to xanax in terms of how it works? any advice would be appreciated ..read more

I don't even know mine, it just doesn't shut off... I'm losing hope, its only getting worse and even meds don't seem to work! I'm tired and i don't want to go on and live like this all my life. submitted by /u/GF30c [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

It’s anxiety not insomnia!

Guys many of you could cure your insomnia by just taking an SSRI, or the occasional Xanax. Everyone on here is over complicating things. Most of your problems go away if you just ignore them, including insomnia! Stop thinking of this as a problem, it’s not! Your not gonna look radically different, you’ll be able do your job, you’ll suffer no meaningful negative changes in your life. You’re just freaking out at the thought of not sleeping because you assume it’ll cause negative things to happen. It won’t! Also, you have an anxiety disorder lol. Try to ignore your fear of sleepless nights, stop ..read more

A discussion about Familial and Sporadic Fatal Insomnia and whether they can be cured

Which do you think would be curable or a cure be found for FFI or SFI first? I personally think that Sporadic Fatal Insomnia would likely be curable or be cured first because unlike Fatal Familial Insomnia, Sporadic Fatal Insomnia is not genetic or hereditary, hence SFI can be curable or at least a cure could be found quicker for SFI. What do you think? Let’s go to the comments section, I really look forward to talking with you. submitted by /u/Minimum_End_4041 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hydroxyzine + Magnesium citrate = special late night panic attack ? I need reassurance

I can't sleep, per usual. I moved states and my last doctor in my home state didn't prescribe me my remeron, and it was too late by the time she sent it in. I was hitting this lil indica pen, and then forgot I will probably need clean pee to get my Adderall refilled. It was helping actually! I'm in a legal state, but also I lived in a legal state prior and my Dr denied me my meds bc I tested positive for THC. Tonight, I decided to take 75mg of hydroxyzine and 200 mg of magnesium citrate. I look up interactions, and now I am so anxious. ? Life is great ? I love having crippling anxiety ? I lov ..read more
