tl;dr I feel like I’m suffering & haven’t been myself the last four years, have exhausted all my options. Attached are WatchPAT results, would appreciate feedback. (Not asking for diagnosis per subreddit rules) https://imgur.com/a/3uzpZlU Hi! recently completed a WatchPAT test from Lofta and got my results back today. Really confused on what my next steps should be so I was hoping someone could give me their opinion/help interpreting my results before I shell out $1200 on CPAP supplies. I’m a male in my mid-20s with a BMI of about 22, relatively healthy and try to work out often. I’ve had ..read more

Struggling Falling Asleep

I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea (AHI 14.5). Without the machine I can fall asleep in less than 5 minutes, but with the machine I am aware the entire time I am falling asleep. Is this a normal sensation? It also takes me 20-30 minutes (maybe longer?) and I can feel myself falling asleep the entire time. Anyone else experience this? Edit: been using the machine for 3 weeks now. submitted by /u/Patient_Ride_9122 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Horrible first night on CPAP, could I have the wrong mask?

I got a Resmed 11 set to standard pressure features (5-20 automatic pressure, auto temp, auto humidity) and a heated tube with a nasal pillow mask and chin strap. At first I was excited that I happy about getting a nasal pillow mask because I wouldn’t have to worry about shaving my face but I breathe through my mouth when I’m sleeping. I would have instantly questioned it when I saw the order from my doctor, but I didn’t know I am supposed to keep my mouth shut and breathe 100% through my nose. I am really struggling with this. It’s a 50/50 chance whether one or both of my nostrils will be co ..read more

Inspire remote beeps

This is really meant as a question to people who have inspire already. I was watching some videos on it and it shows the remote making a loud beeping noise when it’s turned on and off. This seems like it will be annoying to my wife. Is this a real concern? Does it beep if I pause it to go to the bathroom? What else makes it beep? Can the beep be silenced? Hi, ive been having symptoms for the last few months. My main symptoms are waking up with a fast heartbeat that wont slow for minutes at a time, night sweats, mouth breathing, feeling like a zombie/tired all day, and brain fog/headaches. I feel like it’s got to be sleep apnea because my symptoms are so similar, plus it runs in the family, plus i think it might be due to my tonsils which i have been told by many doctors are among the largest they have ever seen (even when im not sick). The thing is, i am young, of healthy weight, dont smoke or drink, and i dont snore at all or wake up in the m ..read more

Just Ordered My CPAP!

After reading posts on here I finally decided to get a sleep study done. AHI is 26! No wonder I'm always tired! Insurance said I made too much for them to cover it but I went to cpap.com and got the machine and a heated hose for $640 with free shipping. Expecting it Monday! During my study they put a mask on me to get settings figured out and I drifted off immediately. The high pressure eventually woke me up again but if my brief experience is any indication I expect to see enormous benefits. I'll post again after my first night. According to my study results 15 mm got me down to only 4 incid ..read more

What to do with the hose?

Got my cpap yesterday, and I am trying to figure out what to do with the hose. It hangs off the bed. And if I don't include it in my snuggling with a pillow it pulls on the mask and is irritating. Once I got it all up in the bed and got situated, made some adjustments to my nasal pillow, I was content. And slept. Woke up this morning and didn't feel "heavy" for the first time in a long time. But that hose. lol. Thinking about trying a top feed nasal pillow, but the hose will still be the same. I can already tell this is going to be amazing, although being single, I'm not so sure how I'll add ..read more
