I have a dust allergy, if i am cleaning or messing with things that might have dust it will make me sneeze, nose will run and all the other symptoms that come with it. On a normal day though the only symptoms i get is sore throat, sometimes find it hard to breath through my nose when sleeping, throat clearing, hacking up phlegm, voice breaks and hoarse. Are these still dust allergy symptoms or more likely to be acid reflux or something else?. I don’t want to be taking loads of allergy meds when my allergies aren’t flaring up. submitted by /u/Ill-Ganache-4066 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I always have dark circles under my eyes and I think it’s due to allergies. Has anyone had any success with getting rid of these? As of now I use Bee Keepers Naturals nasal spray, throat spray, and propolis capsules. I also sleep with a humidifier. I drink plenty of water, and only one cup of coffee a day. Any advice/suggestions will help. I’m willing to change my routine if I need to. submitted by /u/Cautious_Cap_1438 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is this a deeper problem than anaphylaxis?

I’ve been tested years ago for a nut allergy and have an epipen at home, but currently I’m in Japan. I didn’t carry my epipen as I’ve not had allergy issues in years so I’m used to just not thinking about it. Honestly, I’m realising now how stupid that is. On the plane over here I had a pretty serious reaction to something that had no nuts in according to the ingredients sheet, it was a burger patty, mash or some kind, and broccoli on Turkish airlines. I was given oxygen and antihistamine syrup and tablets from the emergency kit, and it cleared up after an hour or so. The other day I started ..read more

Question about allergy shots and differences
Reddit » Allergies

Hello! Noticed that most people here get weekly allergy shots in the first 3 to 6 months or so, however here in my country I am getting allergy shots only once a month. Why is that? I got also asked whether I want to have allergy drops, however injections in my case would be more effective and financially better. Today I got my first two shots, but maybe there is a difference why only once a month? Should I ask doctor about this? I am F27 from Northen Europe. Diagnosis: dust mite allergy and asthma. submitted by /u/mariellaxm [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is this an allergic reaction?

Had some kind of reaction a few hrs ago, broke out into a few hives on my body, got hot, sweaty, fast heartbeat, breathing fast and heavy, got itchy everywhere. Like pins and needles everywhere. Felt like my heart was dropping and I was going to pass out, felt like I was going to puke. Is this an allergic reaction? Damn that was scary. I remember this happening before. Never thought much of it. Just blamed it towards mosquito bites and anxiety. But there's no mosquitoes here now. submitted by /u/ImportantConference7 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What medications (antihistamines, asthma preventer medication) do you have to cease before a RAST blood test? I take Claritin daily and flutiform aka daily asthma preventer. I wasn’t told anything by my doctor but everywhere I read says to stop these. submitted by /u/daisycaulfield [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Does freezing food first help with OAS?

I have been drinking a particular soothie/juice almost everyday for a couple of years. Beets, carrot, pineapple, strawberries. I recently started having issues with a high heart rate and anxious feeling after drinking it so I haven’t in a month or two. I have always used frozen pineapples, but the last couple of times I made this drink I used fresh pineapple. So I’m wondering if freezing fruit makes the fruit less reactive for OAS? submitted by /u/Kirin1212San [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
