Why didn’t Indonesia start Jonathan Cristie against Shi Yu Qi?

Title - SYQ destroyed Ginting but I felt like if Jonathan Cristie played against SYQ he could have won since Cristie is no doubt in his best form and hasn’t lost a match. SYQ is also in his best form and it would have been an epic match. submitted by /u/badmintonGOD [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Inconsistent performance and sore feet

Hi, I left running for badminton for 2 months because whenever I run for 15 minutes my heels starting to get hurt and my feet are sore for several days. After switching to badminton I've noticed that my feet are a size bigger, so I got new shoes and the pain went away. In the past 4-5 weeks I've gained some weight and noticed that my performance has dropped (mostly in endurance+stretching), at the same time the pain is back (only after I got home) whenever I can play at my previous level (cover 2 sides of court, reaching for net and back court constantly). I was wondering if the weight is the ..read more

How can I buy tickets to Indonesian Open without having National ID?

Hi, my husbands and I are badminton fans and we travel to Indonesia to watch the tournament. We buy at the PBSI website. However, it requires an Indonesian national ID, which we don't have. :( Should I ask my Indonesian friend to buy it for us? Is it allowed? What if the security guys ask us to show our ID upon entry? Should I buy tickets at the stadium? The tournament starts 13 - 18 June 2023. We will arrive on Thursday (6 June). Most online tickets are sold out today. We're afraid there are no tickets left by the time we arrive. That's bad cause we already bought 2-way tickets. :( submit ..read more

Hi everyone, Wondering if there is similar racquets for cheaper? Don't care about the brand. I live in Australia in a smaller city and there are very limited options in store. I would likely have to buy online. My friend let me use their arc 7 pro once but I don't love the price. Any suggestions? Thanks submitted by /u/rinoafantasy [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

There seem to be frequent posts about injuries, so could all of you please take some time and post about the injury you have had in the past or present, treatment, and recovery time? (This is not a guide to what people should be doing if they have a similar injury. It's just to show what kind of injuries occur frequently and a rough estimate of how long it could take for one to recover.) submitted by /u/Ok_Entertainment176 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Healthy snacks/drinks to sustain energy while playing long sessions?
Reddit | Badminton

Usually I just eat a big meal before playing and bring water and a banana to restore energy but lately I’m finding out it’s not enough for long playing sessions (3-4 hours, 9 to 10 games) especially when playing 2 matches in a row. I’ll normally get a Gatorade/Powerade if I feel like I need to replenish my stamina in between games but I know those sports drinks aren’t the healthiest with all that sugar and processed ingredients. Does anyone have any healthy recommendations for what to bring to eat/drink to sustain energy/stamina during long badminton sessions? Thanks! submitted by /u/badmint ..read more
