As part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, Mayor Frey took a moment to announce that January 18 was Jake LaFerriere Day! The proclamation (see below) details Jake’s character, leadership, accomplishments and his service to community.

MISSION
Firefighters For Healing supports burn survivor patients & helps firefighters and first responders pivot after a line of duty injury or medical diagnosis. There are often items and resources that hospitals cannot provide or do not qualify for insurance reimbursement. Firefighters Deliver Presents to
Hennepin Healthcare Burn Center Patients
For the 11th year in a row, firefighters and volunteers helped to spread some holiday cheer by shopping for burn survivor patients, wrapping those gifts with love and delivering via fire truck to the Hennepin Healthcare.

Furniture Mart USA and Ashley Donate More Than $40,000
of Product to Furnish New Transitional Healing Center in the Twin Cities
The arrival of the truck took Jake’s breath away.
Earlier this week, Ashley Retail and Furniture Mart USA partnered on a product donation to furnish a brand-new first-of-its-kind Transitional Healing Center for Firefighters for Healing. The donation, more than $40,000, included various living room and bedroom furnishings and mattresses for 12 one-bedroom suites for families of burn survivor patients. 2022 Red Heart Award for her compassion
as a former nurse on the burn unit,
year round volunteer with our youth program and
community champion for burn survivor families in need.
Since 2017, Nurse Angie used personal vacation time to ensure
she could volunteer at Camp RED with us.
