Looking for guidance. We were reported by a vindictive neighbor (his truck) for our arborvitae shrubs. The citation from the city follows this code: “Violation: 5.2 C 5 (c) Fire Hydrant (Landscaping) - Fire Hydrant (Landscaping) Zoning Code Chapter 5 Section 5.2 C 5 (c): Landscaping. No tree shall be planted within ten (10) feet of any fire hydrant so as to obstruct the fire hydrant when viewed from the street.” Our shrubs are set back behind the hydrant and at an angle. I volunteer for my local fire department. As a growing city, we have major coverage gaps, and our local officials continue to ignore our requests for staff funding. I spoke to our city officials with permission as a private citizen regarding my concerns at our most recent meeting, where they then shot down the most recent request for funding.
