I just happened to be at Sig’s Lagoon, the record store in Houston when I saw that apparently house of blues was giving out free GA tickets for the upcoming Kamasi Washington show, there were 50-60 there when I left.

Hey y'all,
I really want playing jazz (or any other contemporary music really) to be a part of my career in the future. Currently I'm in a degree for jazz studies. I really want to be a player that people like to play with, as well as having my own voice. What are the most important things y'all look for in players?

I am a big fan of people like InsaneInTheRain, Grace Kelly, Leo P, and Adam Neely. I am looking for some other people similar to them. I am minoring in jazz and while I understand the importance of the greats such as Chet Baker, Coltrane, the Marcalis family, Paul Desmond, Burd, Etc. I want to listen to newer and younger artists who are trying something new. I am a saxophonist music ed major btw.
