If you are a hoist operator, I'm interested to hear your perspective on this. When you're doing rescues, training, hoist cycles in general, etc., what what kind of performance metrics would you like to see? Cable management, deflection strength, load control, etc.?
I've seen some interesting videos and heard stories about things they can do in aorcraft simulators now, and the data that they generate is impressive. It can really boost your training. Just curious as to what you guys would be interested in seeing, in an ideal world!

Gen Ogolla - Kenya's highest ranking military officer - was in the helicopter alongside 11 other military personnel. Only two people survived.
In a news conference, President William Ruto said it was a "moment of great sadness" for the country.

Purchasing another Six. So they are “critical military capabilities is essential to our nation’s security”…… In Brunei and erm Cyprus…… How is the Puma replacement coming along BTW?
”avoiding unnecessary over-speccing” why does that sound like doing it on the cheap, that will require more funding later to make it fit for purpose. ;) Or am I just being cynical.

Please, let me apologize for touching upon this open-nerve-like sensitive subject, but me and my colleagues at a particular European FIR are looking to fight the oppression of our greedy overlords and we call upon your help in this matter:
If at all possible, could you, please:
1) state the country you're from;
2) post gross remuneration (with and without overtime if applicable) for TWR, APP and ACC controllers;
3) state minimum salary, if applicable.
I do believe I've seen many figures here over the years, but up-to-date numbers are now of the utmost importance.
If correct, our ansp is th ..read more

Hello,
I am reviewing my training material with the goal of finding the exact behavior of the system, but I can't find my answer in the FCOM nor FCTM.
I find the following behavior rather annoying, hence my will to find exactly where it is described and study it thoroughly.
When selecting VNAV, the speed window blanks. The FMC now commands the speed.
What speed is going to be selected ? It depends on the flight phase.
The one phase that interests me is non-ILS approach. You're in ALT because you had to descend to platform altitude, which VNAV refused to do. Now you have to engage VNAV for an ..read more

Operations in Australian Traffic Information Broadcasts by Aircraft (TIBA) Airspace
Operations in Class A, C, D or E Airspace without ATC Services
Safety Bulletin
This Safety Bulletin is to alert Member Associations to the possibility of TIBA activation in any class of the Australian airspace at a short notice, and to provide guidance on what to expect from operations in such airspace.
There are no ATC communication or surveillance services available in TIBA airspace, which means that flight crews will be required to maintain their own safety in such airspace.

Hi folks, could you help me out. I'm just benchmarking something (a different course my employer is putting together) and realise my knowledge of the cost of Integrated fATPL courses isn't very current.
Can anybody tell me what the costs are around UK and Europe for fATPL "zero to hero" courses now? The more specifics the better, if you're able to offer them.

I had a situation on 787 where neither engine would start. Neither start switch had any effect. The maintenance procedure called for the air cond reset pb to be pushed, but I’ve no idea why or what other function it has related to engine start. Could anybody shed any light ..read more

Hello everyone,
I know this may have been asked before and I am aware of the general laws, but is it possible for an American to fly for an European carrier? I understand that they ask for the right to live and work, is it possible to obtain a work permit?
And before anyone comes out telling me why don’t you fly in the U.S., some guys like me might have other reasons in our lives that require us to make such a jump, especially for those like me with no experience ..read more
