Hey! I’m starting 25mg of levo tomorrow. My tsh crept up to 5,6 - t3 2,98 (3,66-6,72) - t4 10,3 (12,4-20,4) I have an anxiety disorder and am pretty anxious about starting it since i’ve read the levo can make you anxious… i’m trying to prepare myself. Will this be the case at such a low dose? And if so: how long does it last? submitted by /u/waterbottleglassr [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How does Heat Intolerance affect you?

Anyone on levothyroxine past or present, what did heat intolerance feel like for you? I'm on my third week of levothyroxine and the heat/humidity in my region really kicked in this week. I just took a short walk during lunch and feel nauseous along with a tightening/twitching in my left throat muscle (I've had that symptom on occasion since starting the pills but usually at night and not this bad). submitted by /u/Pearson94 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi! I had routine blood work done last year and then got put on levothyroxine but my doctor has not wanted to see me again until the 12 month mark (next week) He seems to not be worried about my results, and has not given me much information. He actually has not talked to me at all, someone from his office called and informed me of the diagnosis and prescription. My free T3 was 2.83 (2.18-3.98) Free T4 was low at 0.74 (0.76-1.46) And TSH was high at 12.200 (0.358-3.740) I got put on 75mcg of levo. I never had any symptoms other than dry skin/hair so I wouldn't care about the lack of communica ..read more

Hi, I am 25(f) who got diagnosed with thyroid cancer last September. I found out through a swollen lymph node- my cancer had spread and had been there they say around 4-5 years before I caught it. I had a total thyroidectomy in November. Around last July is when I started feeling the effects of Hypothyroidism. I went from 120 pounds to 155 in less than a year. Constantly tired, brain fog, terrible mood swings, dry skin, you name it. The day after my surgery I started on 100 mcg of levothyroxine. Symptoms didn't go away, got tested and they upped my medicine to 125 mcg. Felt a litttttlleee bet ..read more

I was just diagnosed with Hashis thyroiditis. My TSH is 80 and I just started on 88mcg of levo 5 days ago (30yr F, 132lbs). I am experiencing extreme body aches, puffy face, hoarse voice, numbness in hands and feet and feel like I am feeling worse every day. How long did it take from starting levo to see any relief at all in symptoms?? submitted by /u/Artistic-Maximum-690 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Increase T4 or add T3?

Free T4: 0.89 -> 1.08 (0.7-1.48) Total T3: 101.8 -> 89.9 (35-193) Baseline to 25mcg Synthroid. I started feeling better the first few weeks and now worse again. Doctor gives me option to increase Synthroid 12.5mcg or add in T3. Not sure if need more T4 or I have a conversion issue based on these labs. What do you think? Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/landon1430 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have an appointment in an hour or so for a follow up on a thyroid test result. The first one I got ordered by my bariatric clinic, it showed the tsh at 7.5. Of course I had no idea what this was so read about it, discovered hypothyroidism, I have every.single.symptom, the worst being hair loss and weight gain. I contacted my GP about this and she ordered another test, saying it would be more comprehensive. I get the results and the TSH is normal, just one test, nothing comprehensive about it. I notice it’s the same test as last year on my blood panel when I went in miserable about weight ga ..read more

Subclinical - trying to understand

Hey everyone, Yes, I will contact my GP next week again, but I just wanted to get some feedback beforehand. Two weeks ago, I got a pretty big blood test done because I was having a few more physical complaints next to the mental ones that I already have for a looong time. I got diagnosed depression/burnout etc etc a few years back for that, but no blood tests were done at that time. The test results looked good, except that my TSH is 36 (should be 10 max?). So they tested T4, which was 11 (should be 9.5-24?). So, now I have a subclinical hypothyroidism diagnosis and 150mg Levo each day for 6 ..read more
