I know testosterone us supposed to eventually start decreasing as we age, but I was wondering what about women who have PCOS and have high testosterone? Will there testosterone eventually fall and go down when they hit menopause? Or will testosterone still remain high even after menopause? submitted by /u/calmdownurokay [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My girlfriend faints regularly.

She's been diagnosed with PCOS and I know she's also got an Iron deficiency. And there's also the possibility of pregnancy. We're fairly active, and she hasn't had a period in roughly 60 days. Though consistent pregnancy tests have all come back negative. The fainting spells happen fairly frequently. In fact, it seems nearly every other day now. And she's not keen on seeing a doctor, fearing they'll just sweep her under the rug again. She's had some poor experiences with doctors that left her with little to no answers before. Despite this. I'm concerned for her and her health, as well as worr ..read more

Hey all, hope you're doing well. (Posting on behalf of my cousin who doesn't have enough karma) I recently visited a gynecologist because I haven't had a lot of luck losing weight with diet and exercise. She suggested a blood test and scan and said she'll put me on Spiro, inositol and metformin after that. Surprisingly, my blood test showed normal fasting insulin and testosterone levels. This was quite a shock to me since I have severe hirsutism, I visited her yesterday and she refused to put me on Spiro and said my hirsutism could be hereditary, no one in my family or extended family experie ..read more

Just turned 23, my friend just got diagnosed and she told me some symptoms like acne and weight gain. I researched PCOS when I got home and saw that it is very prevalent in Hispanic women, which I am. I noticed that a symptom is hair loss on the corners of your hair line , which I have!! I could never figure this out when I was a kid I was super self conscious. And now I just saw that tubular breast’s are another symptom that could be caused by PCOS, which I have !! . I’m going to the gyno next month to get checked out but I’m pretty sure I have it since I have a lot of symptoms. Crazy that t ..read more

TMI post: I’ve been taking berberine for a week & a half now. I was wondering if anyone’s stool has changed color since taking berberine? Mine went to light green almost yellow. I take berberine Himalaya. The clear capsules have yellow berberine in them. I also take Myo-Inositol & L-Glutamine with it & definitely food. I didn’t change anything in my diet for my stool to change colors just these supplements. submitted by /u/scarreon92 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Trying to conceive has consumed the entirety of my being for a year and a half, just fighting my body and my goddamn polycystic ovaries. I’ve now been spiraling into a deep depression for the past month that I am trying to claw my way out of but it’s so hard. I’m currently out of work for the time being while we wait to move out of the country and this was supposed to be a time for me to relax, get good sleep, and just try to focus on my health and I was. I was doing great. The inositol seemed to be working. My doctor wanted me to get my tubes checked but I had to wait for my next period. We ..read more

Hi 33-year-old woman here, been with my boyfriend for 10 years, I was diagnosed at 19. I am really not interested in sex with my boyfriend, I have 0 libido. It's not like I'm not attracted to him, he is the most physically attractive man I've been with. (looks like Thor) I am never in the mood and sex is a chore to me, I just roll over and let him do what he wants, we need to use lube as I am never wet enough. I know it's affecting him, and he feels like he isn't attractive to me. anything I can take to boost my libido that has worked for anyone else? any advice? submitted by /u/vanillag ..read more

PCOS misinformation

Which of the mass PCOS misinformation bothers you the most? What would you like people to understand correctly? For me I wish people understood: 1) our "cysts" cannot burst like actual ovarian cysts. PCOS "cysts" are immature follicles that were not able to be matured and released due to hormonal imbalance. There's typically not a lot of pain involved with PCOS. If you're feeling pain, look into other issues, like endometriosis. A lot of us have both. 2) bleeding on birth control is not a period. submitted by /u/lyssixsix [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
