Heart rate down

For context I am 18 days since a slip and 26 cumulative, I just took my resting heart rate today for the first time in while. I used to be happy if I was in the low 80, super stoked if I was in the high 70s. It was well within normal range. It feels good to be seeing and feeling the fruits of your labors. Mental is still hard and I'm working on it but this feels like a win. It does get easier, keep strong and celebrate the wins, no matter how small they may seem. ? submitted by /u/Acrobatic-Ad8158 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Did quitting make u tired?

I’m on day 6 and I have been feeling tired and sluggish. I’m wondering if it is because I quit smoking. I slept 10 hours last night which is crazy for me. I looked online but couldn’t find anything that stated exhaustion as a symptom of withdrawal. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/Gratefully-grateful [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Currently day 9 and during a break at work I bummed a smoke from my fav coworker. She always goes down to have a smoke at the same time and i tagged along telling myself I would just chat with her. But I knew I would end up smoking, which is why i didnt tell her I had quit again. its so silly i felt like a teenager just going against my better judgment, "getting away with it" which is stupid because im quitting FOR ME. What is it about the way i keep fooling myself? I am addicted, but I hate it. Its like I am playing games with myself, against myself. Now Im sat at my desk anxious, frustrated ..read more

Will I spend the rest of my life fighting the urge?

I've been smoke free for couple of weeks now. Biggest thing I've noticed is that cigarettes are on my mind 24-7. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, tiny part of me is asking for a drag. Is this how I live now? Is there a way I can just become a person who doesn't WANT to smoke? Right now I'm a person who wants to smoke but is resisting the urge. I don't wanna spend the rest of my life fighting this urge. It sounds like an exhausting way to live the rest of my life. submitted by /u/RabbitHoleEnjoyer69 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What can I do to lessen my ability to smell??

I have to deal with a lot of bad smells. Like, a LOT. I live with 5 other people and 2 cats. I'm the only one that cleans, too. The cat box has to be 5 feet from my bed and that's actually no biggie since i clean it every or every other day --- but a cat drops a duece 1st thing in the morning more days than not --- ffs, i am not gonna scoop it the second it drops. Fuck, maybe I will. I have to bathe and wash my grandma's clothes. They smell like yeast eating skin, because that's what's happening - and then the cream to cure this, which isn't pleasant. Now it's all I can smell, unless my cousi ..read more

Food as remedy for anxiety after quitting?

I quit 2 yrs ago and still struggle with eating as a way to cope with anxiety. I wasnt much of an eater before (then again 30 cigs a day will sure cut out cravings). Questions: 1-Has anyone dealt with this this long after quitting? 2-What helped? Any specific supplements, foods, etc? Now that I don’t smoke I realize I’ve always been anxious, and cigarettes were my remedy. Of course they seemed to help a lot, but now I know they were actually making anxiety worse. Though I do feel more calm, I find myself eating much more than before; having a piece of chocolate every night after dinner, snack ..read more
