The former world record holder said “really wanted to swim at least to Paris,” but “factors that I could not control intervened.” Morozov hasn’t competed since the 2021 Short Course Championships, where he placed 17th in the 50 freestyle (21.54) while also helping Russia set a meet record in the 200 medley relay.
