First time buying a partially state controlled company, out side of the U.S. so I kept my exposure supper low 50 shares buy price at $17.44, it’s already up north of 35%. Kinda wish I would have YOLO’ed this one.
Curious on what the community thinks about YPF, over seas company’s where the state is involved and would y’all still buy in with the expectation to hold for 1-3 years??

Completely laughable. That's really the best they can do. There's a reason why this is the most unstoppable, risk free market that exists. You literally cannot lose buying any dip with QQQ. You really can't make this stuff up.
1 down week and not even 3 weeks and it's already completed most of the V.
How can you ever think this market can possibly sustain any downside? It just rips non-stop V's. Doesn't matter the reason why. It's hard to believe that it ever had that drop in the first place, but it's irrelevant since it got quickly gobbled up.
The entire Monthly Candle of QQQ nearly engulfed ..read more

I(40m) currently have $52k in a Schwab rollover IRA that I let them manage, but have not seen any gains in the last 2 months according to the balance sheet. At my present employer I have been contributing %12 of my income with a match of %3, which I have been managing myself for the past month. I have been toying around with trading and have been able to increase my account by %52 by buying low and selling high, then rinse and repeat. Sometimes daily but I usually have the app notify me when they his certain values. Is this how trading is supposed to be? Are there any cons to this method and ..read more

Hi! I am an ex-prop trader that trades equities.
This is a daily watchlist for trading.
I might trade all of the stocks on here, or none of them, on any given day. I might trade stocks that don't appear on here! I hold no positions in any stocks long-term but Amazon/Mag7/general broad market indices. (unless otherwise noted in these tickers). If you’re on old reddit, click “show images” at the top to see all the charts quickly.
I usually make these watchlists premarket, (or from 6:30 to 7 as time permits), but can be delayed if I'm trading the open. These aren't mean to be taken as gospel ..read more

Have a general question? Want to offer some commentary on markets? Maybe you would just like to throw out a neat fact that doesn't warrant a self post? Feel free to post here!
If your question is "I have $10,000, what do I do?" or other "advice for my personal situation" questions, you should include relevant information, such as the following:
* How old are you? What country do you live in?
* Are you employed/making income? How much?
* What are your objectives with this money? (Buy a house? Retirement savings?)
* What is your time horizon? Do you need this money next month? Next 20yrs ..read more

Hi everyone. Excuse me in advanced if you think this question is stupid. I know that share buybacks reduce the amount of shares outstanding, hence you own a larger part of the company. But I do not fully understand this, since to me, it looks like the percentatge of ownership remains the same for me, but now it is just that the company owns more part of itself.
How I think about it: A company has a total amount of 10 shares, 5/10 owned by the company itself, 1/10 owned by me, and 4/10 owned by other private investors. The company buys back 2 shares, so now the company owns 7/10, I own 1/10 (t ..read more

I only started investing a year ago. I had absolutely nothing in the stock market, not even a 401k… Yeah I was a financially illiterate idiot I know.
I didn’t know much when I started so I just automated everything as below
401k: Everything in an S&P500 fund
Roth IRA: (maxed 2023 and 2024) all in FSKAX (Total market index fund)
HSA: some target date fund because my employer’s HSA has no total market or s&p 500
Forgot about it until today
I checked my account and HOLY SMOKES I was shocked… and now I regret not getting in earlier.
Now really, is it that easy? I ran some rough numbers on ..read more
