I find my situation to be somewhat ironic.. Two years ago I was diagnosed with glaucoma and became legally blind. Soon after I started working with an English language outlet based in East Asia. I’m a recent grad looking for an MMJ/reporter position. I have a Communications media degree but no internships, and my school didn’t have student media. But I have a decent/solid reel.
I’ve made my my reel with standups and 2 packages, how can I ensure I get an offer/interview? I’m aiming for markets in the 100s and up.
How hard is it to get an entry level job as an MMJ in the 100+ markets if you have no newsroom experience, and just a decent reel?

I know Hazelwood says that schools are allowed to restrict school sponsored and run publications, but what about independent journalism? One of my local students has an Instagram journalism page that he runs on his own and he has been called in multiple times by the school principal to remove his content. His content is well researched and factual. Any case law would be helpful, thank you!

Like many of you, I have been following the NYT's coverage of the war in Palestine with horror and dismay, to say the least, and am having a hard time stomaching what to do in this situation. I had applied to the position back in the fall, before I was aware of just how egregious the NYT’s coverage in Palestine would be ..read more
