I made some Paper Planes for my co-workers a while ago and my Boss likes them so much he looked up the recipe and went to Total Wine to pick up the ingredients. Not wanting to spend $52 for the Amaro Nonino I recommended, he picked this random Minnesota based one not knowing Amari can greatly differ from one to another. I’m planning to host a Dune party in a month or so and am customizing three cocktails inspired by the Dune universe; Spice Melange, Water of Life, and Desert Tears. I’ve got everything but the Water of Life figured out. Obviously I want to retain the blue appearance and think blue curaçao is a must, I’m considering an Empress gin or vodka as base, but interested if anyone has some insight as to other ingredients.
