So I have the app that I used like 14 years ago when I first tried to learn and I’m doing it properly(ish) this time so all the chords and stuff. The app is just called Tabs now I think, in any case looking at a song doesn’t seem very intuitive. Any help would be grand (: submitted by /u/faitheroni-pizza [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is it the guitar or the player?

Playing my guitar just feels awkward, ive been playing for a few years now and now that ive started playing solos standing up everything just doesnt feel right. I feel like I can’t pick right but I can reach the strings with my picking hand, and fretting it feels like I can’f quite get my pinky to move fast enough. Is it quite literally a skill issue? Or is the neck too big and is the strap height completely not for me? I play a schecter tempest custom. submitted by /u/Zerozzz3362 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Have a broken truss rod. I'm thinking of also switching the fretboard to ebony. What cost might I be looking at here? It's an 80s stratocaster submitted by /u/6of1HalfDozen [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello everyone! Last time I posted here, I wanted to know your opinion on a guitar and amp. Well, I’ve finally got them, and I wanted to ask, what are some things I should definitely look up videos about or just basic things(ofc, other than learning how to read tabs) I should know(if that makes sense) submitted by /u/alrighbucko [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

i play on a 25.5 scale if that helps. If it makes things easier, i'd like to put an emphasis on optimizing D standard tuning. submitted by /u/Ok-Cat8365 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How good is the Zoom MS 70CDR pedal? [Question]

I’m looking to get a reverb or chorus pedal but I don’t really know which one to get or what sound i’m really going for. Zoom cdr70 seems like it has a lot of effects and not too expensive (Under $250 budget). For those that have used this, is it worth it? If not what is a better pedal? submitted by /u/RJQWE [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How can I upgrade my guitar?

Hi, was just hoping for some advice! I’ve been playing for a long time, and for the most part I’ve been playing the same guitar—my first electric, an ibanez gio. I acknowledge that this isn’t the best guitar ever, being that I paid under 200£ for it, but I’m not keen on the idea of paying a lot for something ‘better’ when I can just make changes to this one. I really like my guitar and even though I have others I always come back to this one. I just want to make it sound better, because, yeah, the quality of the stuff inside it isn’t great. I just don’t know where to start. I replaced my inpu ..read more

My Struggles with Ear Protection. Help Would be Appreciatted.

I recently started playing in a band with some friends. I am having a lot of fun but the biggest frustration by far is ear protection. I have used foam ear plugs, but they block out too much of the high frequencies and so I can't hear myself. I also get really bad headaches when I use them for long periods because they are extremely uncomfortable and some times my ears still ring after practice because I can't seem to get a good seal. Then I tried eargasm earplugs and I have no idea if these things even work. When i put them in my ear i barely notice any noise reduction. I am scared to use th ..read more

Fret board buzz

I snapped my high e string last night and didn’t change my strings till today and I’m pretty sure my action got lower and now my fret board buzzes mainly on the low e and a string. I don’t know if I changed my strings wrong or I’m just not used to new strings. Ive changed my strings many time before so I don’t know why this would happen. My main question is how can I raise the action and also why this happened submitted by /u/WaIking- [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
