How to stop foundation from settling into pores?

Hi all! I constantly have this problem where my makeup settles into the pores around the center of my face and makes my skin look really textured. When I don’t have any makeup on my pores are still there of course but they are not nearly as noticeable as when I’m wearing foundation. This issue is the worst around my cheeks and t-zone where my pores are a bit bigger, and the obvious solution might be to use less foundation there but it is also the area where I have most redness I need to cover up. For some reason I can’t post a photo but it’s not just texture. It’s like the foundation has slid ..read more

I’m recently trying to get into liquid blush. but i’m confused do i put it before or after powder bronzer?? i know you’re not supposed to put liquid over powder but also supposed to do bronzer before blush so that’s where i’m confused at. i’m aware they don’t go on top of each other but they do touch so will it ruin my makeup doing that ? thanks submitted by /u/Famous-Victory-5896 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have been experimenting with eyeshadow recently but always end up using neutral. I stumbled upon a Milani gilded terra pallette abd thought the colours were so gorgeous but i am nervous it will not suit me as a lean neutral and cold (i think). Do you think it will work, if not csn you please suggest an eyeshadow that you think might? submitted by /u/MixRevolutionary9523 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

hi, so im in dire need of help tbh because i’m a stage performer and i need something to make my makeup completely transfer resistant. i got the kryolan fixing spray after seeing so many great reviews on it, and it literally is just making my makeup fall apart no matter what i use with it. for base i use dior backstage face and body mixed with giorgio armani luminous silk, tower28 and kulfi concealers, caliray color correctors if i need them, and a hydrating spray that i spray once in between layers. i powdered my face to make sure there were no excess oils or anything. i use the same water b ..read more

Water-based colour corrector recommendations??

My concealer always looks grey on me so I was looking to get a colour corrector. Almost all my products are water-based and I had issues with separation when I used anything else. Most colour correctors seem to not be water-based so I’m looking for suggestions! I’m looking for a peachy colour corrector for my under eyes. submitted by /u/skippy981 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My mom is threatening to stop letting me wear makeup

I'm an 18 year old makeup artist and I LOVE wearing makeup. I also LOVE my natural beauty as well but I like expressing myself through my makeup! My mom doesn't like it when I wear it. She always complains that when we always go out I wear my makeup. Which I don't always and we don't go out much of the time. She says really demeaning things about my makeup and my dad as well. They treat me different when I have it on and when I don't. My sisters do as well in public to like I'm not there. It makes me feel bad, insecure, and guilty when I put it on. Like I don't love myself as I am. When I was ..read more

Help! Graduating from cc cream to real foundation. Lost.

I’ve been using Neutrogena anti aging perfector cc cream for a very long time. I like that it’s lightweight and dewy and blends in super easy. However, I’m getting older and I’d like something more full coverage for nights out/special events. But I’m lost!! I want something full coverage that doesn’t feel cakey or packed on and gives a sort of skin like finish. I’d spend up to $50 but also interested in hearing about any of your drugstore faves. I’ve heard good things about Haus Labs and It CC cream. Thoughts? Help? Also going to Sephora Friday to see if they can help. submitted by /u/DaliPa ..read more

For oily skin folks, how do you accomplish no makeup makeup looks without constantly needing touch ups?

So I'm really into "natural" or subtle makeup looks that look like you have no makeup on. However my skin gets so oily and my makeup slides off or oxidizes pretty badly. I've had to cake on powder and constantly touch up, but then it basically gets rid of the no makeup aspect, since then you can obviously tell I'm wearing makeup, albeit still natural looking. And I STILL get oily within 3 hours. I'm trying to find a good primer and setting spray that will lock it in so I don't have to constantly bake with powder or use a lot. Is that a fantasy or impossible? I use the One Size sweat primer wh ..read more
