How Many OTB games do I need to play to get a rating?

I am playing in a 60 minute tournament at my local chess club and am wondering how many games I would have to play to get an ACF (Australian Chess Federation) classical rating. I understand that you have to play around 30 games to get a 'proper' rating, but how many games do you need for even a provisional rating? Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/Critical_Air2861 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So I have decided to change my openings every 100 elo I gain. So after about 100 elo of playing king's gambit(lichess 1400->1500) I want to change my opening to something really positional can you recommend me something(ofc i don't really mind if there are one or two really sharp line) ? Don't care even if white is slightly worse at the end of it as long evaluation is not more than -0.8. Also please suggest me one for black against 1e4, currently thinking about caro. submitted by /u/No-Description7838 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
