I defrosted some frozen hamburger patties in my fridge overnight, but couldn’t get around to cooking them tonight. At this point, how much longer are they good/safe to cook and eat? submitted by /u/Forward_Ad_8391 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Old pesto

Hello, I made homemade pesto about 9 days ago and have stored it in the fridge in an airtight container. I ate a spoonful of it earlier and it tasted fine but then I started reading that botulism is a big concern for pesto and you really shouldn’t eat it more than 3 days old, especially without an acid added (I didn’t add an acid). Now I am really anxious and worried that I may have given myself botulism, and I just need to gauge if this is actually a concern or if I should calm down. submitted by /u/barnacle-girl [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Is using a basin filled with water to wash dishes sanitary?

The title leaves some context out so let me explain. I'm on a mission to attempt to lower my water bill. I usually wash the dishes under running hot water, however I remember my parents and grandparents using a basin of hot water and dish soap to wash, and cold water basin to rinse. Is this sanitary? Is the food floating around in the soap not gonna hurt me? Am I paranoid? submitted by /u/flavoredcyanide66 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I ate undercooked chicken

Cooked the Realgood chicken strips on my toaster ovens airfry setting, under the impression they were already cooked. Took a bite out of one I saw was a bit pink, and I assumed it was just dark meat. But it wasn’t and it was terrible. I didn’t swallow it but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter. What is a realistic expectation of what will happen? submitted by /u/DiamondReptiles [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I made it last Monday (a week ago) but never ate it(i had enough fir a pan.5 so we ate the half and got full), stuck it in the fridge still whole. It is in a glass pan with a silicone lid, i took it out and put it in the oven at 350 to get the crust crispy again. Its all been cooked already, would it still be good to eat? Smells good, no discoloration or mold ??‍♂️ Thoughts? submitted by /u/DC_Wells77 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
