Preview: Filming at Ripley Creek After a 7 year hiatus, we hosted a small film crew in February with the goal of producing a new promo video. This year we chose to spend the entire week at Ripley Creek. As with all heliski trips the weather has a big influence on these shoots – and we had it all.  New for this project was the introduction of FPV drones. For those of you who haven’t seen these things in action, they fly VERY fast and to the uneducated eye appear to be out of control most of the time – which they are not! We are definitely set to see some unique angles. Grant Baldwin who ha ..read more

February Ski Report Our crew worked hard to navigate unseasonably warm conditions during the last week of January. Despite some down days, we managed to push through this period without the widespread shutdowns that plagued anything ski related further South. February brought cooler temps and blue skies. In fact, records were set for the number of bluebird days, allowing us to venture to runs less skied. We’ve averaged 53,000 vertical meters [174,000’] of skiing during the three week stretch into February 23rd. Despite lower than average snowfall, conditions in the alpine have remained very go ..read more

January Ski Report Our 2024 heli skiing season kicked off in late December with a record snowbase and plenty of deep storm skiing. As we transitioned into January the skies cleared and we got into alpine terrain rarely skied in the early season. On January 5th Ripley Creek had its earliest ever opening and we are approaching three weeks of uninterrupted skiing [no down days]. Over at Bell 2 Lodge we welcomed the return of the Heligrass Crew and their vibrant live music performances. There was no shortage of stoke and this year’s event turned into the most successful to date. If you have an int ..read more

January SKi Report It’s hard to believe we are already five weeks into our 2023 heliski season. 50cm of storm snow arrived just in time for Christmas providing super fun tree skiing. When the skies cleared, we enjoyed that magical January light and great snow up high. Low visibility made for some challenging conditions but the guides and pilots managed to keep the ski program uninterrupted into the middle of January. From January 8-13th the acoustic melody of bluegrass reverberated through Bell 2 Lodge in our 3rd HeliGrass week. As we head into the tail-end of January, we have been blessed wit ..read more
