River comes up trumps for Limerick Pike Anglers
Irish Angling Update
by Shane O'Reilly

After the recent rains, the Limerick County Pike Anglers had decided to fish a canal section for their 6th competition of the year, presuming that all the rivers would be running high and dirty. But on arriving at the canal section, they found the nearby river to be in surprisingly good order. So, not to look a gift horse in the mouth, it was decided to switch up plans and fish the river instead. They didn’t regret their decision, as they were rewarded with a very decent tally of 16 pike for 60lb, which proved to be the most successful outing of the year to date. Best anger on the day was Sa ..read more

Here on Fishing in Ireland we are avid watchers of, and love sharing, Youtube videos about fishing, especially some of the talented Irish angling creators. Pike and carp angler Stephen McDonagh has a Youtube channel titled, naturally enough, Fishing With Steve, and his videos are some of the best we’ve seen. Incorporating footage from drones, underwater cameras, GoPro and static cameras, the production and editing is second to none, and he knows how to keep us interested. Two of Steve’s latest videos feature deadbaiting for pike, in late winter/spring just before he packed away his pike rods ..read more
