Hey yall,
So I'm interviewing at a couple of places. I finished interviewing with Company A and the recruiter called yesterday. She said that they were ready to make an offer but wanted to see if I could commute to the job site (about an hour away). I told them it would not be a problem but I was unable to go visit the site this week because I have work deadlines. She said that's fine but really wanted me to go. We discussed salary briefly before the call ended.
That was yesterday but I have not heard anything back from em yet. Been anxiously waiting for a phone call. Trying not to overthink ..read more

Hi, so I’m currently 22 and in my first year of an apprenticeship in engineering, I like my current job that I’m in but really don’t like my course and I’m not performing well, the course is only going to get harder throughout the end of this year and the next 2 years. I’ve been offered a job separate from the apprenticeship working with installations and repairs of fitness centres which involves travel and considerably more money than I am on now. I think it’s a great opportunity and I think it’s a job I would enjoy doing plus the no stress about not performing in my apprenticeship as I lear ..read more

I've been laid off from my company and honestly I'm not too mad about it, I was very burned out from the day to day work. The thought of going back to work intimidates me even so I've deicided to take a 2-3 month break. How should I utilize this time?

Last fall I started an AA in digital media and got a part time job doing video editing at my college. It's fine for the time being but I'm realizing that working on a computer all day is absolutely soul crushing for me. I think I made a mistake picking my major and don't know what to do.
I want to do something tangible and fulfilling (I used to build and fix guitars in my spare time) but also don't want to do backbreaking manual labor 50+ hours like all the trade jobs around here want you to do.
I tried going to trade school before but couldn't find anything I liked. what do?

I like working with numbers, but I need to interface with people in person regularly to maintain my sanity and engagement. I am also endlessly curious and get bored with doing the same thing endlessly. I also hate dealing with government bureaucracy. I have an undergrad degree in mathematics, have experience working in sales adjacent roles in logistics and finance, as well as a brief stint in secondary education.

Hey, everyone. First post so apologies if anything isn’t as it should be, or if this isn’t appropriate for this sub.
I'm a drama teacher with experience in the creative arts and leadership roles, including Senior Leadership Team (SLT) positions. Due to challenges in the education sector, I'm exploring new career avenues where I can leverage or transfer my skills and experience.
I've also run an online business during the pandemic.
Here's a brief overview:
Experience teaching drama and heading a department at specialist Performing Arts school
Leadership skills from SLT roles.

Hello everyone, I am 24 and will be graduating this winter w my bachelors in health promotion and health education. I already have my AS in health sciences. Because of my medical condition I wasn’t able to balance work and school so I don’t have much experience. I really need a career or job I can do remotely that has flexibility. If I need to do certifications or anything I should have some time over the summer but I would love some help and guidance.
Thank you so much.
ETA. I also plan to get my certified health education specialist (CHES) this fall since it’s already built into my program ..read more

I've worked in the IT service field for about 5+ years. I've been in school for a long time but plan to finish in 2026 with a BS in IT (with focus in web development). As of right now, I work full time with the title Web Administrator (really only in title).
I tried to get a job in the UX field as I am more of an abstract creative but that didn't work out. So I am wanting to switch to development. I have some knowledge as I've taken a few classes but would need to really train to gain the skills needed.
I've come up with the plan to create several projects with repositories for the rest of th ..read more

Most of the times when you are disengaged at work, you most probably have reasons: bad boss, poor alignment, stagnation, incomensurate compensation versus value and time provided and the like.
I am contemplating about quitting the job I'm at. I don't have some other offer of engagement from another employer but, currently, there's this overwhelming exhaustion and disengagement from my current job.
What I am figuring out is the why, the why to this feeling as I have good intentions for my employer and wish them and work towards their success. They're not a bad folk to work for, but some turnov ..read more
