I was at my former company for over 15 years before resigning due to medical issues and took a year off to recover. I am in my first 90 days and increasingly more aware of their deceptive and unethical practices. The company has even faced legal trouble for similar actions in the past. The worst part is these practices are widely accepted internally without question. Given my concerns, I'm exploring my options and need advice on: Whether to include this hellscape on my resume since it's a short stint. (will employers take into account my previous tenure and assume I am leaving for good reason ..read more

How to answer object oriented design questions during interview in 45 minutes ?

I recently gave an interview where I was asked to develop a game and I did some OOD and some coding but I fumbled a lot and was not flawless. I got anxious because I had not played the game or developed the game. What approach I should have had ? How much requirement gathering, how much skeleton code and how much actual code is expected in 45 minutes ? I have done OOD a lot but doing the whole thing in 40-45 minutes made me too stressed and I just bombed my interview. submitted by /u/Hopeful-Technician71 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am looking for advise to upgrade myself. I’m 35M working in Project Management in E Commerce Field. I am engineer and MBA by education. It’s been a while that I learned any new tools / skills. Everything is going well but I feel like I’m going on autopilot mode and loosing interest to learn new things. I’m developing the interest in the role of Solution architect or Product design. I’m not sure at this stage. Could anyone suggest any new tools / certifications / courses in general or in the field of AI + Project management? I have a bachelors and masters in history. I’ve been teaching high school social studies for 14 years but my heart isn’t in it. I’m also mediocre as a teacher. I know and love the subject but I suck at interpersonal skills and I don’t do well with 150 different personalities. Also teaching has changed since when I first started. I’m burned out. Today my principal said they would not be renewing my contract and offered me the opportunity to resign which I did. I don’t feel bad about I’m just concerned about money. If I could do anything else and make what I make now I would. Would accounting b ..read more

Hey guys, I'm 24 and graduated college last year with a Bachelor's in History. Not a great degree I know. I was apart of the teaching program but things happened with the university and I thought it would be best to drop out of the program until they got things figured out with their programs. I originally planned to go back and finish my teaching stuff but as time goes on, I can't see myself being a teacher full time unless maybe I'm teaching at like a college level. Maybe part time as a substitute or tutor (which is what I've been applying to recently for a new job, no dice thus far) I've o ..read more

How many of you love being a pilot? How many of you regret becoming a pilot? Is there anything you wish you knew earlier about this career? Is there another career that matches this lifestyle and income?

Title. Most pilots l've met love what they do and wish they didn't have to retire. Some Redditors mentioned the sleep schedule can be awful, and others say they don't have an issue. The only other careers I can think of that have a similar lifestyle are part-time physicians, freelance lawyers, some engineers, and successful entrepreneurs who’ve automated most of their business. submitted by /u/Additional_Carry_790 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What kind of alternative career paths could I take with my employment history?

Hi there and thank you very much for your time and consideration. To provide a better picture I will start from the beginning. I started my higher education going into software engineering. Followed courses in my country which were accredited by UK universities and completed bachelors degree. However, unfortunately the moment I finished my bachelors, my country fell into economic depression (took place in 2019 pre-covid) and I was unable to get into any sort of internship or graduate placements as most companies initiated a hiring freeze. I had to resort to go for BPO (business process output ..read more
