BaseController With Dependency Injection

Recently I have inherited an asp.net core application, which is also my first time working with the framework. Working with the application initializing controllers felt very repetitive since all controllers used a few common services like loggers. ASP.NET core makes service access easy with dependency injection, but it’s challenging to stay true to the DRY principle when every controller is initialized with the same few services.  In the code above, a few of the services being injected are also being used in other controllers. So, it becomes very repetitive to have to initialize all con ..read more

Adding calculations to your Planning Analytics model, like a YTD measure, provides users with the values they need without having to export data and do the math themselves. Determining what calculations will be most useful in your model is best decided after receiving feedback from users. Why? Because conversations about what data they’re extracting and manipulating themselves leads to a more comprehensive model. Calculating measures in the format your users need will save them time in having to add values up themselves, and inevitably making a mistake every now and again. A YTD measure is an ..read more

John Daniel Associates | Business Analytics, BI, Reporting
by Bethany Famiglietti

There may be instances where you’d like to calculate the cumulative sum in a chart in Qlik Sense. For example, you may want to look at sales values cumulatively summed in a bar chart for selected invoice months. On the other hand, maybe you want to accumulate subscription dollars over time to see how individual companies are growing within your ecosystem. Cumulative sums or accumulation is possible in Qlik Sense; however, it may be challenging for the novice user to write the expressions to accomplish this. Formerly, in QlikView, you could select the ‘Full accumulation’ setting on the Expressi ..read more
