Hello, I had prior contact with someone who had HTLV 1 back in 1998. I’ve started having issues now since 2018. All my blood tests are negative and I read about people finding it in spinal fluid as well but it was also in their blood. I know there is no treatment but eventually I’ll likely need disability based on how my legs are slowly wasting. I don’t know what to do to get a diagnosis. Maybe if I had a friend who was a doctor who could take a blood sample and look for it… but I don’t have a friend like that. I (28 female) had a stomach virus over the weekend. Started with fatigue, headache, body aches, then progressed to vomiting, and later to diarrhea. The last time I had vomited from a virus prior to this past weekend was when I was 10 years old. I’ve definitely had viruses in those 18 years, but only experienced diarrhea with them.
