Hello! My partner and i want to dance to Hysteric at our wedding, but we're struggling. We've had 2 sessions at Arthur Murray so far but they're teaching us the Rumba and my fiance is bothered by the seemingly fast tempo of our "boxes" compared to the more flowy vocals. He feels like we're just doing these weird rapid boxes that don't really match the dreamy song vibes.
I kind of agree, and I'm trying to use smaller steps, but I don't really know what else to suggest. We spent three hours last night trying to pick a different song but we just love this one!
Any suggestions on types of dance o ..read more

I have been trying to learn how to do a body roll for a while and can do the starting part of rolling my upper body but cannot do the ending motion of coming down and kind of sitting and pushing my but out. When I try to do it I look so stiff and i cannot put it all together, for some reason I just can’t move my body like the ending part should look. Any tips?

Hi, I will have this song on wedding and hope you can help me pick right dance to go with this song. What is the rhythm and melody? Sorry I'm total noob about this. I am currently going to dance classes and we are learning discofox, waltz and some other dances.
This song is: ♡ Oliver Dragojevic - Dusa za nju ♡ (youtube.com)

Teaching social ballroom I’ve heard the traditional hand placement of the lead’s hand on the follow’s back scapular as either scooping ice cream or “cupping a back book, like a bra” in order to get them comfortable with the placement.
Either can be a little odd in any given context. Is there a better way to describe this?

Anyone remember if there were dance instructional videos on VHS back in the early 90's, specifically teaching Michael Jackson styles, Glide, Shuffle, etc...?

I don't have any specific styles in mind, but his favorite kind of music is rock & roll and techno. We're signed up at our local YMCA. A bit overwhelmed about what I should be looking for.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
