Facelift Furniture

Vintage French provincial dressers are in a class of their own, and are a favorite to refinish. This nine drawer dresser was pained Kettle Black, distressed, and sealed with high gloss polyurethane. High gloss was selected for this custom order because of the additional pop it would provide. It delivered, and with the original pulls, it takes on a new life and makes a statement loud and clear that it’s qualities are to be enjoyed for years to come. For more upstyled inspiration, visit our Dressers collection.   ..read more

Peacock Blue Hexagon End Table – Before & After
Facelift Furniture
by Jeff Raymond

This vintage hexagon end table had seen it’s better day. That is, until it was painted, glazed, and distressed! Of all the old pieces of furniture I like to refinish, hexagon end tables are a favorite. Weary and worn, I have little desire to see these dated pieces in my home. Refinished with paint, glaze, and distressing, they take on a whole new life of character and eye-catching appeal. This piece is upstyled in in distressed Peacock Blue. Black glaze accents the detailed areas. And old lion’s head pulls replaced the original pulls (since one of them was broken). This piece is also fea ..read more

Distressed White Clothing Armoire

Tiffany & Ben purchased this great armoire on craigslist.  In place of the natural pine finish, they wanted it custom painted white with light distressing–which accentuated all the great detail.  An additional shelf later placed in the upper storage area provided even more storage. The original hardware was also spray painted white.  The armoire is now part of their girls’ bedroom.  You can also find the finished armoire featured at That Village House.   ..read more

Ornate Vintage Dresser in Distressed Off White
Facelift Furniture
by Jeff Raymond

This ornate dresser was part of a set I purchased, including a nightstand and matching mirrors featured in recent posts. This early 70’s set is marked by funky character–and was primed with potential for a new look! I painted, glazed, and distressed the pieces in four different colors. The nightstand was upstyled in Robin’s Egg Blue and Black, while the mirrors were transformed in Barn Red and Off White. I also chose Off White for the dresser, with heavy Tobacco colored Glaze accenting the detailed molding and ornate areas. Distressing popped out the original ..read more
