TALLADEGA, Ala. - MasterBrand Cabinets, the largest cabinet manufacturer in North America and the sixth-largest company on the FDMC 300, will shut down its cabinet plant in Talladega, Alabama - laying off around 300 employees.   The closure is due to changing market conditions and consumer tastes, according to a release. The company hopes the closure will improve its operational efficiences while addressing these changing conditions, it said.   Production will continue until June. LOS ANGELES – Platinum Equity announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Cabinetworks Group from American Industrial Partners, GIC and other equity holders. Terms of the acquisition, announced April 5, were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021.
