This holiday season, I became aware of a fragrance that was new to me. I have engraved for Burberry in Houston many times; however, this was the first time that this beautiful fragrance bottle landed on my engraving table. It is called Burberry Goddess. The information for the fragrance is detailed as such: A unique, gourmand scent led by a trio of vanillas and enriched with luminous lavender. I have engraved many wine bottles for Delicato Family Vineyards around Houston for for nearly a decade. I remember when Delicato partnered with the Grammy award winning musician Zac Brown to launch Z. Alexander Brown wines. Merry Christmas….just kidding. This is a fragrance bottle that I engraved at a Hugo Boss event in December. Please forgive me for just now posting this bottle; however, I just came across it in my pictures and loved the result. Engraving fragrance bottles has been one of my favorite activities for nearly a decade. I do recall my very first onsite fragrance engraving event for a company. When it comes to celebrating New Year’s Eve, I am quite low-key. I haven’t celebrated the holiday in the traditional sense in many years. Over the Mother’s Day holiday last month, I honestly engraved so many wine bottles that I lost track. However, I remember this Orin Swift bottle because the hands on the label really resonated with me. I haven’t had a drink in years, however I remember that we would get so enraptured in the nuances of wines and wax poetic about the ripe fruit and forest floor (whatever that is) and terroir etc etc etc. I jest, but I really did enjoy discovering the nuances of how each varietal differed from the other and how even each bottle of the same wine may differ. I can’t help but hear Marilyn Monroe sing “Cartier” from Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. The River Oaks boutique team in Houston is always amazing and it is a wonderful experience.
