I’m moving house! Not me physically, but my blog. Putting my money where my mouth is, my blog will be hosted by GreenGeeks, an eco-friendly web hosting company with green company practices and web hosting that is carbon neutral. Since I moved hosting services, I took the opportunity to change my domain and blog name too. Remember how I was so upset to learn Ralph Waldo Emerson was a Saxonist? I have finally read The History of White People by Nell Irvin Painter where she lays it all out. And, well, it’s bad. First, a little history The idea the Anglo-Saxons were the pinnacle of human evolution and meant to rule the world originated in Britain a bit before Emerson’s time. British “scientists” slobbered all over themselves to prove they were awesome and the British Empire deserved to rule the world because of it. All I can say is, wow, there sure has been a lot of things happening. I was at work and blissfully unaware about the Capitol insurrection on January 6th. I was having a busy day and floating on the happiness of the election outcome in Georgia until my boss walked by around 2:30 in the afternoon and mentioned what was happening. Then I lost all my ability to focus on anything else.  There has been plenty of commentary from people better at it than I am and I am going to assume you have been reading all of it too. I’ve not been much of a New Year’s resolution maker for years. But one of my cycling teammates recently posted to our team Facebook page that resolutions are things you usually give up on so she was making evolutions this year, recognizing that habits are hard to change and go in fits and starts (it also makes a great play on our team name: Revolution Velo).
