Smashing rally this one (as always) lots of fun, food, drinks and laughs. We could have done with some better weather and having to pack up wet was a pain but there you go we are in England. Meals out on Thursday followed by a catch up chat with all the NFCCC banter and laughs. Members took advantage of the adjoining country park to go out walking while the less adventurous stayed in the club tent for games. Friday evening bingo was followed by horse racing in which with a double last race payout Jackie romped home to win. Saturday was Peter’s 70th party which was good fun followed quiz night ..read more

Weather not great but we got away with it and could pack away reasonably dry and mud free, the weekend was basically fun and food. Diners club Thursday meal at the Lara, Turkish restaurant in Weaverham which was good food and good fun, Friday was Pie and Peas (and chips) night, Stevie picked up the pies from near his home and very nice they were to, Saturday Chinese takeaway which pretty well went to plan although Jackie could not get her first choice and then she got beef instead of chicken fortunately she was not fussed and went with the flow. On Friday we played the Best an Worst game we pr ..read more

Now I will try and be nice, no I wont, after being gazumped with the party room for the 2nd year running and the site fee’s allegedly £25 per night and the general high prices in the pub AND trying to keep the money we paid for a room we did not use I say farewell to the Poacher which unless there is a management change will probably go broke. Saying that we had a nice meal on Thursday a really good laugh on Friday night playing the Tension game and it was great to see everyone again and catch up. It does highlight the need for somewhere to get together at all times during our weekends whether ..read more

New Rally Venues

During the AGM various new rally venues were mentioned which I feel I should comment on and yes this is a personal refection on circumstances, with petrol prices at a all time high, food prices on the rise and price increases at every turn every addition cost is a strain on the budget. I would ask when looking at new venues that the impact on every member be considered. As they were brought up for instance Burton is a near 120 mile round trip, Crewe is a 80 mile round trip and additions to my budget if added to the venue list. I do understand the difficulty of getting rally venues and the fact ..read more
